My wife and I were in Hinton on a camping trip and I wanted to try this place as I love local coffee shops. We walked in and were greeted by the two gentleman working that day. The barista was very helpful in making suggestions and I settled on a caramel macchiato and a date slice. I must mention that he was kind enough to tell me that a traditional macchiato was more of an espresso shot so that I wouldn't possibly be disappointed. We sat for awhile and enjoyed the coffee and the date slice that was made fresh was also delicious. I also noticed that they make breakfast and lunch items and cater to gluten free and other dietary needs.

So if you're in Hinton and want to try some good local coffee with good conversation and a very friendly atmosphere please try The Old Grind. Looking forward to our next visit. 🙂☕️

We made a stop here before checking into our hotel! It was a great find, family operated and a really cute place! The staff were very helpful in helping us picking our sandwiches! It was made to order and very fresh!

The best coffee shop between Jasper and Edmonton!! Great coffee. Friendly staff. Fantastic lunches. Yummy baked goods. Beautiful local art on display and for sale. Just north of the highway by 50m. Easy to get to and you can feel good about driving past the Starbucks and supporting a local business. Super easy parking. Try and avoid the noon rush as it gets a little busy.

Got some breakfast bagels to go. Unfortunately was expecting them to be a bit more flavorful, but they were definitely filling. The coffee was ok! They serve the coffee with a chocolate covered coffee bean which was yummy.
Really appreciated all of the local artists items in the cafe, lots of goodies (pottery, children's books illustrated by artists, etc).
