Nice little airport, essentially one air Canada flight a day that arrives and one that departs daily. If you miss the white school bus shuttle pick up at the highliner hotel in downtown Prince Rupert to depart on a YPR flight, you're looking at an expensive water taxi to Digby island to catch your flight, or you may miss it. There's no way to drive to YPR, it's on an island nearby Prince Rupert.

Arriving into YPR, you pick up your checked bag at the carousel and bring to the white school buses outside, it's loaded on, you board the bus with your carry on. The bus goes on a ferry and you're dropped off downtown PR.

Departing YVR you need to be at the highliner hotel pick up point with your checked bags by 140 pm or you missed the boat literally, to YPR, unless you can get a water taxi last minute for $$$. You arrive, pick up your checked bags at carousel, then proceed to Air Canada check in counter and security clearance. Faster if you're 25 k status aeroplan or above, it's a long line up because everyone arrives at once, but it moves.

Two washrooms, one vending machine before you go through security clearance. Outlets for charging after security clearance. Good little airport, just stressful if you can't get to the highliner pick up point by 1:40 pm.

Very small as is expected, but there are a few things that, if changed, would make a world of difference in comfort & accommodation for the passengers.

#1 Having nothing to eat at the airport, no cade or even vending machine that offers snacks is lame. We're here for 2 hrs waiting. At least have something to eat would be great.

#2 Bathroom with more than 1 stall. 80 ppl here waiting to board flight 30 waiting to use toilet. It's gross!

#3. Not super important but when going across harbour it would have been nice to our bus door open for fresh air. Both ways they kept it closed & it was really warm & uncomfortable.

Note: this review is written from the perspective of a helicopter pilot, using the airport as a refueling stop.

First time visit to CYPR and line service was awesome! After I shut down I was actually a little concerned. No one had answered radio calls for line service and the place appeared to be deserted. Then.. Anita showed up in an airport pickup truck. Wow! Anita is incredibly nice, helpful, and positive. She went to get the fuel truck, fulfilled my fuel order quickly and was just super positive with lots of great local knowledge about weather and traffic conditions.

Lots of GA parking on their large, clear ramp or on the sod adjacent.

The only negative to my visit was the really thoughtful (sarcasm alert) Nav Canada facilities check pilots in their Challenger who had ZERO situation awareness while taxiing on the ramp and blasted me and the helicopter with their exhaust. Thanks guys!

No worries. Great airport and I will plan on using it whenever my route brings me to this part of BC.

Worst customer service and support iv ever experienced in an airport. It’s impossible to call and talk to an actual person. Information on delays and shuttles is NOT readily available. I guess it’s easy to suck when you’re the only choice, welcome to Rupert
where customer service sucks everywhere!

Small clean airport and serve only one Air Canada flight daily. Wifi is not always working.

I have been tracking for over 30 years with Air Canada.. and Jason has been the best Air Canada professional I have ever worked with and met. There was a mix up with my flights, and he was able to sort it out in a calm, kind and timely manner (clearly I was stressed during this time not knowing what to expect or how I was going to get home)

Thanks Jason for all your help. You definitely deserve the mayor position, as you are well spoken, smart, and truly looking out and has everyone’s best interest at heart.

Jason for mayor of Prince Rupert! Hope the people do not miss out on this gem to be their leader. Clearly he is for the people and super humble about it.
