All of the employees were very helpful, friendly and extremely respectful! The truck I rented was in great condition, and the service was quick and efficient. The facility was clean, even the public restroom. Great experience all around.

I rented a 15 foot truck for my move from our apartment to our first home. I did the initial first inspection required and the truck looked in fine standing. Upon arrival at our apartment, when loading the truck we were greeted with the smell of fecal matter. Although the truck floor was clean we found smeared fecal matter on both walls of the truck. As our elevator was booked for a time slot and we were far away from the Bayers Lake location, I took some time stamped photos, and disinfected the walls which mitigated the smell greatly but didn’t fully rid of it. After the move, I contacted customer service and spoke with a lovely gentleman who took the photos I had taken/launched my complaint, and told me I’d hear from the store GM within 72 hours. I returned the truck within my rental time frame and received a call from an employee within the 72 hour time frame stating that I shouldn’t have selected the truck was clean and the store employee stated he cleaned it and there was no feces. The employee cut me off and downplayed my experience even stating that there was no fecal matter in the vehicle despite my photos that I provided. I did not feel heard and felt as if my experience did not matter. I asked to have their manager call me to which they told me that their manager was on vacation the following day and wouldn’t be back until the day after but they would have their manager reach out. I told them this was okay. Two days later, I received a call that I was unable to answer as I was at work with a voicemail, as well as an email both stating that the manager was busy and she authorized a 50$ refund of 260$ truck value. I responded that I had never heard from the manager despite asking twice throughout the process and that if 50$ was what they deemed fair for cleaning fecal matter off the wall of my moving truck then they could reinstate my card with it. They processed the refund and closed the complaint. All in all, I am very disappointed by the dismissive nature of the employee, even referring to the refund due to a dirty truck, when fecal matter is far worse than dirt and is largely considered a biohazard. While it is not about the money, it doesn’t feel great to pay 260$ for a truck that had fecal matter on the inside (that I had to clean), and it feels even worse to not have your experience considered important enough for the manager to reach out when asked for twice throughout the process. I would not recommend the Bayers Lake Halifax location to anyone looking to rent a moving vehicle. This left a sour taste in my mouth during a key, exciting milestone in my life and I’m incredibly disappointed with the service.

An absolute disgrace of a company. You might save money, but you will pay in other ways. Do not expect them to stick to scheduled dates, and do not expect any sort of apology. The employees are rude and will gaslight you. The manager will dodge your calls until you give up. I would never recommend Halifax Uhaul to anyone.

Truck came with the check engine light on and well worn tires.

Dollies are first come first serve but they never have any, even first thing in the morning.

Even booking months in advanced nothing is guaranteed or communicated until a couple days before use.

Competitors seem worth the extra money for less hassle and more professionalism.

Booked a 15' truck here for moving, came to find that the truck was actually located at the Green St location, which would have been fine, except for the fact that when we got there, they were closed, nobody there except for a pigeon that was locked in the office and was flying into the windows from the inside. We were notified after calling Bayer's Lake that our truck key was in a lockbox, and we had to go to the U-Haul app to get the code. Unfortunately, the U-Haul app was under maintenance, and unavailable. The general manager, who was supposed to be able to get the code for me, did not pick up the phone after 20 minutes on hold. When I called back to Bayers Lake they were able to get another truck for me. This was all fine, until the day after I returned the truck when the Bayer's Lake location called me and asked me about scratches on the truck. There were no scratches on the truck, and I had taken photo evidence to prove I had no caused any sort of damages to the vehicle in the moving process.

Nothing about this process was easy or straightforward, and by the time I actually got into a truck we were about 2 hours behind schedule.

Without question one of the worst customer service experiences of my life.

I booked online to have a hitch installed - paid online, choose the installation time and received an email confirmation. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that my appointment was two days away and that the "confirmation" email I received wasn't actually the time for my appointment.

They said online they just pick a random appointment time (it definitely asked me to pick a very specific time when I was online) and that someone tried to call me to tell me when my appointment was. I never received any calls or emails from U-Haul after the "confirmation" email I received.

They refused to make any accomodation for me in light of the mix up and I simply asked for my money back. Ironically, they also sent me an email survey to fill out to ask me how my installation experience was... What a joke!

The fact that they don't even know I didn't have the service done speaks volumes about the whole situation.

This was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The process was a complete nightmare from start to finish. Your team was unhelpful, dismissive, and outright rude. I had to wait for an unreasonable amount of time, only to be met with incompetence and excuses. The lack of communication and disregard for my time is unacceptable. I expected better from a company that’s supposed to be a leader in the industry. Get your act together.

Great! Visitor's or customers' parking space. Different trucks Different capacity, 90% trucks condition. Customers service is Satisfactory, nice environment.
