You MUST spend some time exploring what Nancy and her late husband created. I was tickled pink at the incredible animals she has been helping. 35 years they have been assisting injured animals. Nancy was so happy to share everything she could about everyone at her place. I forgot cash to donate (no pressure), and there was an online way to donate (either to both places or just hers). Have a splendid time!

Nancy is hands down the most passionate woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. What her and her late husband, Gunther, have created is truly a blessing to animals in need of rehabilitation.

When we arrived, Nancy gave us the run down of the property and gave us the freedom to wander at our leisure. She joined us for part of our visit and provided stories of each animal we encountered. She even offered us snacks, drinks, and a place to rest during the visit.

What Nancy is running here is truly inspirational and a unique experience where the animals always come first. If you are able to visit, volunteer, or donate on their website, I highly recommend you do.

Had the pleasure to meet Nancy and all the animals at the rehab shelter today and it was a one of a kind experience. She welcomed us with open arms and is a wealth of knowledge about her animals and their needs. Nancy and her late husband, Gunther, have built such a beautiful reserve for animals in need of care. Everything is built and done with so much care and love for the animals, and she continues to work tirelessly to provide a home for these animals until they are able to be released. The website has some conflicting information about when their hours are for public viewing-1 page says they are open 1x annually whereas another page says they are open after 3pm on Sat/Sun. I would recommend giving her a call prior to arriving to set up a time and give her a heads up.

One of the most wonderful places I have had the chance to visit. What Nancy & Gunther have built here is beautiful in every aspect. Being able to see the animals & then visit with Nancy & hear her/their story was terrific.

I highly recommend making the trip here & making an effort to help such a great cause.

Thanks again for your hospitality & all that you do Nancy!

This is a really neat location. Nancy and her recently passed husband built it behind their home as a passion project. She told us that they treat somewhere around 800 animals a year, operating on donations and charity. She is willing to let visitors come see the wildlife in her care. It's a very eclectic facility and doesn't look like much when you drive up but the generous hearts make it special. We're glad we took the time to stop by

The website said open to visitors after 3 on Saturdays, so we went. I don't think they get too many visitors as they were really surprised when we showed up. But Nancy took us around and we saw the eagles, ravens, owls, ducks, and the crowd that were all being cared for. It was raining gently while we were there, but that didn't dampen any of our enthusiasm during this experience. Definitely a highlight for us!
