I've been taking public transit in Kelowna/Lake-Country/Vernon area for several years now. I'm happy about the new inclusion of the UMO pass, was ridiculous having to try to source a physical pass every month when places would be sold out & city hall has limited hours. This has made transit planning way less stressful, especially times when I just need a day pass or more than that but less than a monthly fair. Overall the transit itself is pretty unreliable but some routes (and drivers, or seasons) are better and worse than others. It's quite ridiculous waiting over an hour outside with no shelter at most stops, scouring the website looking for an alert, to eventually find out your bus was cancelled or is running behind. These aren't isolated incidents either, they happen frequently across the whole system. Sometimes because a bus just stops working ~ which is just frankly an unacceptable oversight. The drivers are usually quite friendly & accommodating but that has improved over time and was not always the norm. The app and how alerts/closures are managed is still very buggy & requires a lot of guesswork. For example, if a road is closed and a bus is rerouted, neither Google or the official transit-app will actually show this. So you have to essentially GUESS what time you need to be at a different or temporary stop on the line, and how that will affect the whole route timing. There are typically no "rerouted temporary schedules" posted even this is planned in advance for multiple months of closure. Again, completely unacceptable from a company that tells people "Well if you missed the bus because it was early by 10-15 minutes, that's YOUR fault."

terrible. i was on route 8 and within 15 minutes they made everyone switch buses twice to stay on the same route and the last time the driver told me i needed to pay to get on. i told him i had just been moved from another bus twice and didn't take a transfer since i only take the one route. he told me to pay or get off the bus. the buses are late every single day without fail. they are kicking people off and over crowding the buses to the point where ive seen people get hurt and now making people pay double to stay on route. if you can avoid taking the bus here, avoid it. terrible drivers and terrible service.

I really disapointed about bc transit in Kelowna, because during holiday you have to wait one hour for bus, there are not enough bus, schools are closed but what about people who work, specially now when it's just freezing, it's not fair at all.it 's been one hour that I'm waiting for bus, it's about 7PM and I was at work, it's not fair.

I must totally thank BCtransit, especially operator 126, driver of the rout 5, who was kind enough to keep my phone, which I had left forgotten on a seat on the bus after getting off at their stop. This act is something totally incredible for me, I never expected to recover something as valuable as a phone, from which I could have obtained some money for it or simply asked for some reward for it.

I will be indebted to the city bus system.

Thank you very much for this integral service that is demonstrated by your staff.

The transit situation is awful in Kelowna. The bus service #6 is 60-70 minutes apart in the morning.
Already awful, I reached 10 minutes earlier than scheduled time (walking 1.5 km to reach the temporary stop because of closure of three stops nearby) and then they decided to postpone bus service by 50 minutes.
I am sorry but bus service is not a candy that you decide not to eat at the last moment. What an awful transit planning!!!

My son left his skates and helmet on the bus on his way to school and called me in tears. I made one phone call and had them back to him by noon, just on time for his field trip. They made sure to phone me as soon as the driver arrived with them and they were all pleasant when I arrived.

Busses are a huge help, relatively on time, and 99% of drivers are super nice. There is one older gentleman that works for you, white hair, kind of chubby, he's an absolute maniac. I've seen him scream at people in multiple instances, I've seen this man verbally abuse a younger woman who didn't even speak English, all because her transfer was expired, think he should be fired or atleast consider letting some joy into his life, terrible, rotten person. should not be interacting with the community nonetheless driving for them.
