Working with number 1 movers has been one of the worst experiences of my life. They delivered our belongings 10 days later than they told us they would, they damaged and lost many of our items, some of which are not replaceable (like the leaf for our table). We have filed a claim like they requested for the most and damaged items, but they have never responded and it has been months! I have told everyone I know to NEVER use this moving company, they caused so much stress and we will never get back the items they lost and damaged. I have no idea how they stay in business.

Stay away. Not only did they take over a month to deliver our belongings to BC from Ontario, their original quote kept increasing weekly. Many of our belongings were damaged, lost, stolen? or never left the Hamilton warehouse. They began avoiding our calls.
In the end, only when we threatened legal action, with an email that was cc'd to the media, did they call us back.

I regret few things in my life. Number 1 Movers is one of them. I've moved 11 times in my life, and I had more problems with this one move with Number 1 Movers than every other move combined. Please do yourself a favour and find a more honest and reliable company. You might be in a hurry, and Andrew the slick salesman will assure you they can meet your timeline, but that's just a lie, we were told our move would take 8 to 9 days, it took 20 days, with no communication about the delay until the day before our stuff was set to arrive. We were left sleeping on the floor of our new apartment for 12 days, with not even so much as an apology. They also broke/damaged/lost thousands of dollars worth of our belongings, charges us for a shuttle truck which they directly said would be included, charged us for moving supplies despite their own contract stated it was included, didn't provide mattress protectors despite their own contract and saleman said it was included, and they implied the typical moving scam, teling us that our stuff weighed much more than their "confident" quote, without any evidence, despite having promised to provide a weight ticket before and after picking up our stuff.

Worst business I have ever worked with. Would give them negative stars if I could. Lied about timelines (the truck didn't even leave Ontario until after they told us it would be in BC), lied about pricing, 7+ items broken, 5+ items lost, and it has been months since our move and they have not even responded to our broken/missing items claim. Save your money and sanity and do not use this company.
