We've stayed at this motel two years in a row on an annual trip that takes us through Alberta, and we consider it a real find because we get tired of the chain motels that all look and feel the same. The place is clean and quiet, and the friendly owners do everything they can to make guests comfortable. The second time we visited, they were very accommodating in helping us find the room that worked best for us. The rooms are clean and equipped with microwaves and refrigerators, and the free Internet is fast. If there was a pet fee, it was included in the very reasonable rate that was quoted to me over the phone.

Impressed at the new sink, kitchen in good shape. There's a fridge freezer oven and stove, conveniently! Looks a bit dated from outside There's older chairs and carpeting inside but for $70-80 a night. Pretty good deal. Saw first room. Smelled smokey, gave us another room, which was much better. I'd recommend for the price.

What separates this motel from the rest? For the price range, it would be tough to find another motel that compares. It is quiet and clean, with friendly staff and wonderful service. In addition, having your own wifi connection in the room was a great bonus - no need to worry about the neighbor in the room next door hogging the bandwidth. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a place to stay - consider the Golden West Motor Inn; you will not be disappointed.

Our stay at Golden West Motor Inn totally exceeded our expectations!!! The room was without a doubt one of the cleanest we ever stayed in. There were ample towels and toiletries provided and the wifi connection was exceptional which has been difficult to find in similarly priced motels. Not to mention the staff were very friendly and helpful. Next time we are in town, it will be a very easy decision on which accommodation we choose.

We came here for a room, I spoke with a women over the phone everything was fine till we showed up there, the owner tried to tell me we were at the wrong place not sure why? so I called the same number I spoke with the women on, when the phone rang he was surprised didn't really say much he then accused me of having an animal so much so he went outside and looked inside my vehicle to his surprise we didn't have an animal. Needless to say very odd people running this place also wanted a $200 damage deposit. Kinda ridiculous amount of money for the kind of place it is.

Not a terrible place to stay however it's very out dated and seems to serve alot of low income monthly tenants........ However we had no problem with any of the guests even though the police were there (multiple units) in the middle of the night two out of the three nights we stayed.

Probably the best motel I've ever stayed at! Very clean, nice quiet location, super friendly manager Simon. Oh and the kitchenettes have a great size fridge. Would definitely stay here again.

OK so where do I begin to say how the owner Julia made our day or perhaps year! We were traveling by motorcycle from Edmonton to Calgary on Aug22/16 which should be a 3hr drive ..not with pounding rain & 50mph winds to battle. We pulled off into Carstairs and were fortunate to find this gem of a motel. Walking in dripping wet,tired and so cold...Julia took care of us immediately! Grabbed towels for us to dry off and as my husband filled out the paper work escorted me to the room then turned the heater on for me. Julia also took our wet clothes and dried them for us. We were able to dry our boots& gloves on the heater. The room was comfortable,clean,warm, toiletries and strong WiFi.
This motel deserves the 5 stars..or more. Julia definitely is a customer service Queen! Thank you Julia for making a horrible day much brighter.We appreciated your genuine concern! We spread the word whenever we can....Char & Don
