Beautiful marina in a quiet bay. Super-friendly, helpful staff. Many services (grocery store, restaurant/café, laundry, etc.) are within walking distance in less than 15 minutes. The City is working hard to bring back this place to life!

Disappointing Experience - Poor Facilities-Have they given up?

I had high hopes for this marina, but unfortunately, it left much to be desired. The lack of basic amenities is shocking, and it’s clear that while this place might have had potential, it seems like the enthusiasm or funding dried up quickly.

First off, the bathrooms and showers were filthy. It's incredibly frustrating to dock after a long day on the water and find that there’s no clean place to freshen up. To make matters worse, there’s no hot water, so you're stuck with freezing cold showers—not exactly what you'd expect from a marina.

There’s also no security, shore power or water on the docks, making it nearly impossible to maintain any level of safety comfort or convenience while staying here. Basic marina services, like these, are non-negotiable, and it’s disappointing to see them entirely absent. Anyone can access the dock and the boats here with impunity.

Overall, this marina feels like a place that started off with good intentions but quickly ran out of steam and investment. It’s a shame because it has so much potential, but as it stands, it’s just not worth the visit. Reviews for the past few years indicate that the issue are pervasive and unresolved.

Booking and paying was easy, and they responded quickly. They did let me know before booking that there was no power or water at the docks. The finger docks, while very narrow are good quality, but could use more cleats. The location is great, with lots of amenities in walking distance. The rest? Pretty bad. The washroom is a bit of a trek from the docks and hasn't been cleaned or maintained in a LONG time. The shower functions but the water that comes out is colder than the lake, and must be the substitute for the ice machine (which was there, but not functioning). The bathroom really looks like horror films could be made there. There is a fuel tank, but there was never anyone working there, or in the office, or checking on the docks. There is a "security gate" but it neither latches or locks. The spot is popular for boat launch and for parties. There is a park area. Lots of people using the park benches (and staring at people on boats like it is a zoo, but whatever). Lots of Friday night partying with skinny-dipping. Entertaining.

*Updating this review in 2025. We made a reservation to stay and were asked to send an etransfer to secure our space. We decided to wait until we arrived and we are glad we did. Still no power on the docks and the slip assigned still not appropriate for our size. Docks are very dirty. To be fair (& why there are 2 stars instead of 1) when we saw the state of things, we did not contact anybody at the marina to discuss the situation.
We were able to secure dockage on the county docks and had an enjoyable stay there.

2023 - Pretty little marina, we came in by boat and were told the facility is under new ownership, the docks are new and no power on the to the slips at the time of this writing. It was quite windy when we came in and were helped in by staff members. The slip assignment was not appropriate for the size of our boat and a new slip was found almost immediately. However availability for 40 ft plus size of boat seems to be limited. The rating is because of the things yet to be completed, I think it’s well on the way to being achieved, just not quite there yet. Very pretty and just a short walk up the hill to restaurants and stores.
