I’ve been having to get my blood drawn weekly for the past 2 months and the staff at the picton lifelabs are so friendly and make the experience as pleasant as possible with light conversations and taking the time to make me feel remembered and welcomed.

I went as a walk in because the website said a 20 minute estimate. When I arrived they informed me it would be 45 mins wait and I thought that would be acceptable, except that at the 45 minute mark they told me it would be another 20. 20 later, another
20. In total from start to finish I waited 2 hours. I had a toddler with me and honestly I would have left and rescheduled if I had known it would be this crazy but they just kept extending and lying about the extension. People who came after me as walk ins even went in before. And the end result was painful. Bloodwork should not elicit a gasp of pain. Your techs need more training and better communication.

I have severe needle and blood phobia. I got up my courage (after putting off my blood work for 3 months) and went in. The lady at the desk was so understanding (I was literally shaking and almost in tears). She ended up doing my test and was so understanding and kind and made me feel very comfortable. It was quick and painless.
Edit to add: Pam has done my tests three times now. I've had a lot of bad experiences, but with her I'm actually laughing as we do it (not hysteria, but actual laughter). She has helped me a great deal with my fear. Thank you so much, Pam!

Experience was good, only had to wait like 10 mins for a blood test and workers were friendly 👍 I do want to add, the actual location of this lifelabs is a bit up the street (north) from where it shows on Google maps.

One of the people there is “MAGIC”!! I have terribly deep veins in my elbows and they always listen to me and 9/10 times hit the right vein on the first try 9/10 on me.
Tanya, u know who u are and I love that u know to warm up my hand and hit “that vein” and I never bruise when u do it. So, thank you for making a frightening experience painless and bruise less for me. You take the time to listen to me and aren’t dismissive like the nurses at QMHC are.

My complaint has to do with the difficulty in booking an appointment for a blood test! I'm not sure if we even need an appointment!
