I called them and asked for a bag of food and they said because I'm only here working in summer that I should be able to buy my own food, I have to be a resident of Oliver and have prof to get food, they said maybe they will give me a small token bag of food with two or three cans of beans and after that the hell with me. They said I should use my paycheck to buy food..... Maybe I'm in between paychecks or jobs.... No compassion! What does it matter where I live or if I'm working or not!! They never heard of working poor? If somebody is hungry they are hungry regardless of where they live or if they are working... Maybe all the pickers should leave Oliver and go work somewhere else if that's their attitude in that town! We paved the way for them to get paid! They also take government money and food from churches and money from individuals yet they have the nerve to turn me away?! To treat me like a common criminal? How dare you!

The most helpful people you'll ever meet. This food bank is a great place. They always have hot food and drink and racks of free clothing. They give out lots of food. Good stuff too sometimes big packs of meat as well.
