This is our absolute favourite store ever. It looks small on the outside but inside it goes on and on, so many fun little rooms, nooks and crannies with so many wonderful things. The candy section is amazing, things that can’t be found anywhere else that I know of. So many wonderful local authors and books about local places. An absolute must-see and the owners are such gems.

Ok wow. First of all, the store just keeps going and there are so many areas in this store. Amazing selection. Fair prices. Friendly owner. I got a blueberry jam and this man cave bottle opener and a colourful bird art painted wind chime / bell. Thank you. Really recommend a visit to them.

Such a cool variety store, from vintage looking toys to locally made products to fresh fudge.
Probably could do most of my Christmas shopping there, and it seems to go on forever, something new to discover around every corner and nook.
Must stop if you're in town!

Our favourite stop when we're passing through Renfrew! You won't find a more friendly and pleasant shopping experience anywhere in The Valley than at A Sense of Country...this place has everything!

Fantastic place! It is a hidden gem in downtown Renfrew! The place is never ending. You go in expecting an average store but they have room after room and it is all really well organized. I could easily of spent an hour there and not looked at everything. Old school candy and lots of house decor. Will definitely be going back. Great service.

This store appears tiny but it goes on and on. Almost the length of a city block. So many great gift ideas, candy, cards, fudge, gift ideas and cottage decor. Hand crafted wood items. Friendly service with a smile.

This store is my favourite shop in Renfrew County! It's absolutely gorgeous!
I was amazed by how big it was, and how much decor they had. It looks like a small shop when you enter, but it just keeps going... Room after room of wonderful things!
There is something for everyone in this shop. For men, women and children... from high-end decor and gifts, all the way down to vintage candy and games. Literally, this shop has everything.
I've purchased beautiful 50th anniversary gifts for my parents, wedding gifts, and some of the best Christmas decorations I've ever owned!
I've only ever dealt with great staff there. Today while my husband and I were shopping, the one lady (maybe the owner?) was helping an elderly man who had a hard time walking, with trying to find the right gift for his needs. She brought him items so he didn't have to walk far, and asked him all the right questions. She went above and beyond, and I'm sure that man must have been greatful.
If you're wondering where you should visit when you're in Renfrew, the answer is A Sense of Country! I wish I could give them more than just 5 stars!

After driving through Renfrew on our way to various places, we finally decided to stop and check out the downtown. A Sense of Country Inc was the highlight of our day! What a store! The store goes on and on and on with so many amazing products! It is well organized and such a delightful place to browse. Do yourself a favour and check this place out!
