My husband and I were just in to get a few things done and had exceptional service. I should have gotten her name but she was the lady with the emotional support chicken on her lanyard😊. Thank you for providing wonderful service with a winning attitude.

I recently had a distressing experience with the driving instructor Chantal at Access Nova Scotia, whose actions seemed inconsistent and at times dangerous. During my test in a 50 km/h zone, I was driving at 45 km/h, but Chantal repeatedly yelled at me to speed up. When I got close to 50 km/h, she suddenly shouted that I was going too fast and should slow down. At a stop sign, a pedestrian was actively crossing, yet she instructed me to turn, essentially cutting them off.

On the 102 Veterans Memorial Highway, I took exit 13 onto Truro Heights Connector Road, where the ramp had a recommended speed of 50 km/h. As I slowed to around 60 km/h to merge safely, Chantal continued shouting at me to speed up to 75km/hr, saying I would cause an accident behind me. When I did as she instructed, I had to merge into a 50 km/h zone. She then shouted at me to slow down, claiming I was speeding (62 km/h), even though I hadn’t merged yet at that point. And during merge my observed speed was 54km/hr.

When we returned to Access Nova Scotia, she asked me to back into a parking space. I checked all mirrors, blind spots, and surroundings, but she claimed I hadn’t completed a “full 360-degree view.” My girlfriend, waiting outside, observed that I did check, yet Chantal deducted 20 points for “dangerous actions” and “poor observation.” When we reviewed the test sheet and approached her for clarification, Chantal shouted at us, contradicting her earlier instructions, and abruptly walked away in front of other drivers and their families.

After this, we went inside to discuss the incident with staff. They only recorded my name and number, forwarding it to an unnamed “manager.” When reviewing other reviews online, we found multiple complaints about Chantal, specifically describing her behavior with Southeast Asian test-takers. The frequency and similarity of these complaints are alarming, with many pointing to the same instructor by name or description.

This experience has led me to feel that I was unfairly treated due to my Southeast Asian background. It’s unsettling that a government employee may be targeting individuals based on their ethnicity. I am depending on my license to begin work, and this incident has left me questioning the fairness and inclusivity of the process.

I have to say that every single time I stepped in here the staff members have had kindly helped me! But this time Garth did the extra mile helping us with our company application. He's got all the expertise to go through all our applications and make all work in two days. Thank you so so much for your experience, kindness and willingness!

I had my road test with a white lady( blonde hair) and I think her name is Chantalle. I did my road test twice with her. She is extremely racist and terrible rude both times. She made my minor mistakes to major and she failed me twice. First time while crossing the big vehicles in town , I made a lil bit slow and she said you were unnecessary slow and she put me in unqualified. Second time, I was at 3 way stop sign on Robbie Street. I reached first and then there were two vehicles on 2 different lanes and they came after me. So, it was my turn to move then second person and then 3rd person. But what happened, third person started driving first instead of waiting for other two. I just started driving then I applied brake when I saw he started driving on my turn. It was not my mistake but she made me disqualified on the basis of this. I told her, it was my right to drive but I controlled in the meantime. She said , it doesn’t matter he started driving first. While driving she was all time yell at you like move move ,stop stop. At the end she slammed the door very badly. I had extremely bad experience with her both time. People already told me if you are brown or black she is not gonna pass you easily. If you have test with her and she failed you first time, I recommend you next time book in any other town instead of Truro. I will say never try that terrible lady.

Was publically humiliated by the front greeter! Old woman with grey hair and a very rude nature. Was in line and I guess not far enough ahead and she goes “YOUR NOT GONNA GET THERE ANY FASTER MOVE BACK”! What a rude woman disgusting to act like that!!!

I did my road test with the Examiner called Chatalle. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! The first thing she said when she entered the car is: put your mask up well. Told her that I need glasses to drive and the vapour from the mask makes them blurry. She yelled at me saying that she puts her glasses on her mask. I did what she asked. She took me for an hour test and kept collecting demerit for things I didn't do, she was supposed to take me for a 20 to 30 minutes test. During that hour, we roamed Truro downtown, the suburban area, then we ended by the roundabout toward the highway. When we entered the highway, she flipped/snapped or whatever that was, yelling at me: "Look, they are going at 100/h, they are passing us". I was at the ramp entering the highway at 80km/h. She started pointing at them with her hands almost in my face and her face facing my direction, felt like a spit in my face (disrespectful, unprofessional, non-elegant, aggressive). I almost stopped the car, and asked her to step out or just drive herself (but needed to just keep calm). At the end, she started going through her made up list of so-called mistakes, and when I told her that my previous test score mistakes was 1/3 of this one (another examiner at another location), she stepped out and slammed the door. I couldn't sleep for 3 days after, due to the disrespect, I wish I had cameras recording at the back of the car to show evidence for her mistreatment. I am sure she is a racist, and she yells on purpose to find an excuse to fail you. Also, she took the young Canadian boy who tested before me for only a 20 minutes test, he passed, and she gave him a huge smile while leaving the car. Fire the abusive cruel witch! Don't recommend her to anyone. Don't know about the other stuff there, I left after the test, and I swore will never put my feet in TRURO ever AGAIN.

Had my road test terrible experience I don’t know what this lady’s name she has a blonde hair she’s rude I will write government to fire her , you can’t treat people this bad or fail them just because they’re immigrants, she yell at me when I was not wrong , I slowed down at yield sign and she yell that I needed to go fast on the lane ( everyone knows at yield sign you slow down and check upcoming traffic ), she intentionally confuse me and shouted after I stopped at the stop sign I checked traffic two cars were very far away I had to turn right she just shouted go go go you can’t stop , I notice all through out the test she covered her nose as if I smell and I told her to her face I’m not satisfied with the results she almost break my car door with her terrible look and left , failed me for no reason . What do you gain from failing people when they aren’t wrong ?

Would give 0 starts if I could. The examiner Chantelle was EXTREMELY rude, im honestly not sure how she has a job there. My boyfriend took his road test today and the first thing she does is rudely rip the air fresheners out of my vents and throw them in the grass behind my car. (Mind you, I was sitting right there, she could have passed them to me.) She then proceeded to tell my boyfriend “you can pick it up after, i’m sensitive to scents.” I understand scent allergies, I have them myself, but the attitude and disrespect while doing it was a different story.
They do the road test, may I add, I was watching them pull out of the access nova scotia parking lot. She tells him that he didn’t make a full stop at the stop sign coming out of the parking lot.. He definitely did. I watched him full stop, blinker, check and pull out. and if they watch the cameras back they’ll see that theirselves. Then, she automatically failed him for a “Dangerous action” because he wasn’t going 100 in a 50 zone on a highway ramp? He was slowly execrating onto the highway as you’re supposed to do, creeping up to 100. But that’s an automatic fail? She kept yelling the whole time to him “The highway speed is 100, the highway speed is 100” as if he didn’t see the sign and know that himself? She was overall rude. Slammed my car door when she left, he tried to ask her questions when she asked if he had any, and she got out the vehicle before he could even speak

I then go to work and a co worker tells me her boyfriend had the EXACT same experience, and should I also note, another review on google says she had the same experience and was ALSO automatically failed at the same part. If you’re booking here, book with ANYONE but Chantelle. Avoid her at all costs, she’ll probably fail you cause she had a bad day.
