I rented green boxes from FROGBOX/Alta Moving and Storage as it seemed like a good alternative to cardboard boxes for an upcoming move. The level of service from this company was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced.

I booked over the phone (because their online booking did not work), requesting a drop off for Saturday, August 17. They did not have that date available but said they could drop off for Thursday, August 15 with no extra charge. I noted that this was fine, but it would need to be in the morning due to an afternoon appointment. I was assured this was fine.

The boxes were delivered in the afternoon while I was away. When I returned I found that the delivery driver had scraped a stack of boxes against the wall, leaving significant damage to the hallway leading to my apartment. When I flagged and escalated this concern to their customer service team, they simply wrote this:

“After reviewing the situation, we found that our driver delivered the boxes without contacting the walls. We understand that the hallways in your building are narrow and it’s possible that if someone needed to access the suite after the boxes were delivered, they may have moved the boxes, potentially causing the damage by brushing against the walls.”

After responding to this ridiculous email I received no response and had to pay for the damage to be repaired ahead of moving out.

When it came time to pick up the boxes, I was told they would be picked up for the afternoon of Saturday, August 25. They did not show up in the specified window, again. This company has about 4-5 phone numbers floating around online in Edmonton for FROGBOX and Alta Storage and Moving. Not a single number picked up, despite them apparently being operational on Saturdays. After numerous phone calls on Monday morning and afternoon, they finally dispatched someone to pick up the boxes around 5PM.

If you want a smooth move without damage to property, I would highly recommend avoiding FROGBOX and Alta Storage and Moving. If there’s another provider of reusable packing boxes, opt for that.

First we used their container service. So convenient to have container dropped at doorstep, then moved to new place to unload.
Then we hired for move. They moved all our heavy stuff. Excellent crew. Friendly, hard working, quick. All bills were as quoted and very reasonable. Best moving experience! Good job Edward, Alex, and Matt!

I had a wonderful experience with Alta Movers today. One of the most stressful situations in life is cleaning out a home due to family illness , Especially when the resident of the home is unable to help. Aa Ron, Alex and Rimi arrived at the home and immediately assessed the situation. I was in completely over my head and they checked their judgement at the door, took a quick inventory of everything that would need to be moved and then told me when they would start the clock. They did not stop and the move was done in half the time of what I expected. These three guys were so friendly, incredibly hard-working and helpful. They even made me laugh a couple of times which I didn't think I would do today .I will recommend Alta movers to anyone I may come across that need moving and storage solutions.
