We have moved many times within Canada and we took AMS transportation services for the first time. Initially, the communication was prompt regarding dates and quotes etc. Our stuff was moved on the right time and packing was good. As the move was from Halifax to Edmonton, it took about 1 month which they did mention. When we called customer service a lady answered who was absolutely rude and sarcastic. We were so disappointed with her way of talking. But two people named Doug and Brian took the responsibility though their truck broke down in Winnipeg, and brought all our stuff safe and in good condition. They were polite and well mannered. We forgot everything what we went through after seeing their service. I would give them 5 stars but took off that one star for the lady who answered the phone. Overall, it was a good choice we made taking the services of AMS TRANSPORT SERVICES.

Grand River Moving passed us onto Good Old Boys Moving who then passed us off to AMS Transportation. As we were passed along, the originating company washed their hands of us.
We will say that the crew who loaded us in Kitchener were very good. Our goods were being treated with care and packed tightly.
We passed on all of our credit card info to pay our bill. We then received a form via email to fill out to confirm our credit card info. We were driving to Alberta at the time. We were told our goods would not move until they had the form! All they had to do was process the info we had already provided!!!
We were told 10 to 17 days for delivery in Alberta.
What we weren't told is that our goods would be unloaded, loaded onto another truck, upon arrival in Alberta, unloaded again and then finally loaded onto a trailer to us.
What I missed on the agreement? "Agreed Delivery Date: Carrier's Convenience"!!!!
31 DAYS!!!! We waited 31 long overdue days for our possessions.
Making enquiries as to our delivery date, we passed from pillar to post. Not having one contact to guide us through the move was extremely frustrating.
For the driver, we can't complain, the unloading crew was questionable. Not very capable, the driver ended up carrying some our furniture in by himself as the "hired help" were unable to work together.
My table saw was dropped off of the side door opening breaking brackets that hold the fence and slide. As we watched them move someone else's goods from the rear to the front, boxes were being thrown, not always caught.
As we were unpacking over the last while, it's an ongoing process, we began to discover damages.
A box of old family cook books saturated by motor oil, bins broken and crushed, boxes crushed.
Damages were found on heirloom furniture, leg bottoms had pieces broken off, etc.
Unpacking china figurines, we found more damages, some un repairable.
Our WEBER BBQ had obviously been upside down at some point in time. The internal components were in a heap inside. Needed to reassemble the burners, heat shields and grills.
Considering the # of companies involved and the # of times our goods were loaded and unloaded, we are shocked that the damages were not worse.
We are not asking for compensation as it would be a waste of time. Impossible to prove who, when and where the damages occurred.
My mistake was contracting a company who were unable to handle our move. I should have gone to a recognized van line.
Lessons learned, I highly doubt that there will be another move in our future. If there would be such an occasion, I'd be checking references and abilities thoroughly.

TLC Movers and AMS Transportation is a SCAM* BE AWARE*
My Household goods and Toyota SUV were picked up on Dec 5th 2022 from Mississauga, Ontario by TLC Movers and AMS Transportation Services and was promised to be delivered to Calgary, Alberta within two weeks. I was asked to pay $5360 upfront and i paid the amount completely. Today its Jan 2nd 2023 which is almost a month and no one is telling me the exact status of my goods and when will it be delivered. In past one month, TLC and AMS Transportation Services has been giving all kind of excuses starting from Truck breakdown, Drivers quitting, apologies, assurances but not the delivery date and status of my goods. I deeply regret choosing TLC as a moving company and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL. I am staying with my wife and young kids in Calgary without my vehicle and household and this harsh weather is costing me a fortune on rental vehicles, essential furniture .. things which i already had but under TLC possession and i can't use them. Sales representative "Pat Walsh" has vanished completely after taking the payment and left me at the mercy of some East and West Dispatch email IDs which are good for apologizing and giving me fake assurances but not the delivery status. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!

Would not recommend. Moving my elderly mother's belongings from Nova Scotia to Edmonton....I wasn't aware the mover I hired (Fox Transport) brokered the move to AMS Transportation.

We were told her things would be picked up end of February, and they came 10 days earlier than the date we were expecting. They gave my mother 4 business days' warning of this change in schedule. Her things sat in a shipping container in Toronto for a week before being trucked to Regina, then Calgary.

I had asked to work backward from 25 March, as that was the date I was able to coordinate the Edmonton move. Her belongings arrived 13 days early - and I had to beg and beg and beg to get an approximate date for the delivery of her things. Endless emails went unanswered.

I finally had to resort to contacting the CEO of the moving company I hired (Fox Transport) to get any sort of action on this mess. He was kind enough to contact them, but to no avail. I finally got a phone call 1.5 business days before her things arrived.

The guys who unloaded my mother's things were awesome - they were gruff, serious fellows who unloaded everything with care. Super nice guys. It's a shame they work for a completely unprofessional company that seems to have a HORRIBLE reputation. Please please please, if you hire a mover who brokers your move - do NOT allow them to use AMS.

We hired leblanc trucking to move our things from newfoundland to edmonton and they subed our shipment out to Ams without us knowing until after pickup . We had a terrible expierience and would not recomend either of these companys to anyone . Contract stipulations changed without notice , delivery was postponed 4 times , each time being no show i had to call and track my things down . Not once did they contact me . And the dispatcher was very rude to my wife telling her our $5000 shipment was pennys to them .

I hired Transportation Services Canada to move me from LA to Canada. They brokered the move to AMS. I have since learned from the BC Government that AMS is operating illegally here as they never registered their business.

Anyway my experience: On moving day only one guy showed up! He couldn't lift all my stuff alone. No surprise. So I had to run out and hire 3 day laborers out of pocket to help him. It was supposed to arrive within 10 business days. It took 15. I told them if it arrived more than 12 days I wouldn't be available until the weekend to meet them at the border as I started a new job and couldn't be at customs between 9-4. The dispatcher threatened me at this point. Said he'd leave my stuff in the States if I didn't get there.

On arrival day the movers came 6 hours late. My stuff had been moved to a smaller truck and most of the boxes had been crushed! It was obvious that they threw everything out of their larger truck onto the ground before they moved it to the smaller vehicle. My birdcage was damaged beyond repair. My armoire door no longer closes. Lamp shade that was in a box crushed. Pottery smashed.

Not only was I not reimbursed for the additional cost like hiring help for them, or for them not honoring their delivery date date promise, nor for the damage. Wayne, their dispatcher, is abusive. The BBB and agencies up I spoke with have all heard of them by all the complaints they have received.

Warning!!! Please do not use this company. They did not bring a big enough truck and when my belongings were delivered, 5 weeks later, half of my belongings were missing. I would not recommend this company to anyone

Just witnessed one of their trucks drive up on the sidewalk because they didn't want to for the light to change, almost hitting an elderly person walking.
