We rented 3 MJM step through E bikes on the September long weekend. We booked them for the entire day so we were not rushed and the price was very reasonable. I recommend booking ahead of time to ensure the bike style you would like is available. They have quite a lot of bikes, including tricycles, for those who may have an issue riding a 2 wheel bike. Booking online was super easy. The location of Black Diamond Bike Rentals in the Banff Park Lodge Resort Hotel is perfect for accessing various bike trails. The staff, Tom and Linka, were so helpful when we arrived and got us on our way quickly. They answered all of our questions and went over how to use the bikes. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. We did the Bow Valley Parkway as it is partially closed to vehicles at certain times of the year, including September long weekend. It was a lovely ride with no worries about watching for vehicles, very safe. The inclines were no problem with the assist from the bikes. After we went all the way to Johnstone Canyon and had a packed lunch picnic, we headed back to Banff, where we rode up to the Banff Springs Golf Course and Bow Falls. That is a very nice ride with limited traffic. On July long weekend, six of us biked the Legacy Trail from Canmore to Banff and back (different rental company) and preferred the Bow Valley Parkway ride more, less congestion on the trails. On July long weekend, we also went up to the Banff Springs Golf Course and saw a bear on the golf course. We didn't see a bear this time, but we did see deer. I recommend bringing a packed lunch as food is extremely expensive at Johnstone Canyon. We were supplied with baskets on the side of the bikes before we headed out for our knapsack, coats (as the morning was cool), and our larger water bottles. We ended up going 75kms, which was no problem with the bike assist, and we still had 2 bars left on the batteries, so we really could have gone further. I completely recommend Black Diamond Bike Rentals in Banff. Thanks again to the staff for helping us make wonderful family memories.

Rented an electric fat bike with studded tires from there and went cycling on vermilion lakes (frozen). The bike was well prepared and I had a lot of fun. It was about 60-70 for 3 hours if I remember correctly.

I picked black diamond because on the map it was closer to the bike trails and that means less time on the road for amature bikers like myself.
I booked and paid for our bikes online and it was an easy process. I booked them 2 days in advance in June but I also saw other bike shops were all sold out. So I reckon you will need to give as much notice as possible esp in the summer.
The staff were really helpful, and helped us with our trip where we biked from Banff to Johnston Canyon, took us 7 hours return(including being amazed by the scenery, photos, resting, hike up the canyon)
We rented one e-bike and one regular. I would recommend an e-bike as this route was 50km return

Without a doubt renting ebikes from here was a top highlight of our campervan Canada adventure. We were so impressed that we came back another time on our last day of the 8 day road trip. Tom is such a first class representative of this company. He was pleasant, helpful, friendly and organized. The location is in the heart of trails galore...you can spend hours and hours on these fun bikes without getting tired...definitely the best way to explore the beauty of Banff.

Amazing service and very accommodating. I went to different bike stores to compare and I would say this was the best place in Banff. They had dog trailer as well and We enjoyed it!

I highly recommend this rental company. Had an awesome experience with them, not only was it easy to rent bikes and trailers from them, but Jason was beyond helpful in helping us plan our biking trip including looking into trail information for us and giving us some great tips and information about the area to make our trip as smooth as possible. They helped us load everything and unload everything once we got back. They were professional, patient, and very knowledgeable!

Very friendly and accommodating to my friend and I showing up late for our rental. Rented e-bikes and they were a blast. Lots of trails around town. Recommended!
