We stayed for two nights (October 6, 7 and 8, 2025) in the larger family cabin (cabin 3) with a private bathroom. Before booking, I read both positive and negative reviews, but I viewed this as a glamping experience for nature lovers — which is exactly what I am — so it ended up being perfect for us.

We really enjoyed our stay. There were lots of birds singing in the morning and a cute little chipmunk who seemed to live nearby. The cabin presented well upon entering — it was clean and cozy. There was a small trap under one of the beds (I assume for mice), but we never saw or heard any signs of them. The beds were clean with no staining as mentioned in another review. Each bed had two pillows and a comforter.

The bathroom was clean with plenty of fresh towels, hand soap, paper towel, and toilet paper. Shampoo and conditioner were provided, although we didn’t use them. Contrary to what some reviews said, our cabin had six outlets — plenty for charging devices. It may be that the smaller cabins (1 and 2) have fewer, as they share a separate bathroom.

The room also included a small fridge, a microwave (which we didn’t use), a hair dryer, a Keurig coffee maker, kettle, and a few coffee pods with sweetener and Coffee Mate. There was a small breakfast nook table for two and a chair by the window. Several heaters were available with clear instructions, though we didn’t need them — it stayed comfortably warm even when temperatures dropped to 6–8°C at night.

Outside, motion lights guided the walkway from the parking area (just a short distance from the cabin). The light on our cabin stopped working the second night, but overall lighting around the property was fine. It might be nice to have some optional patio or string lights for more consistent lighting in the evening, as the motion lights turn off quickly.

The common area had a nice hexagon picnic table, a firepit (which could use a quick clean-out), and plenty of chairs. The ground is a bit uneven with wood chips and rocks — typical of natural terrain, so just something to be mindful of. There’s also a BBQ, though the grill was quite rusty, so we used our own cast iron pan to cook our food. A wash tub for dishes and even a trampoline for kids were nice touches.

All in all, we would stay here again, only in cabin 3, the family cabin w/private bathroom. We paid $87 a night, I would not pay more than that for this room, but at $87 it was reasonable. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and conveniently located just minutes from Tobermory and hiking trails. If you’re expecting a Sheraton, this isn’t it — but if you’re looking for a peaceful, nature-filled GLAMPING experience, you’ll really enjoy your stay too.

Would never come back here. No idea why the reviews are positive, they shouldn’t be. Dirty rooms with hard stains on the bed and bad smelling, overall not kept well at all. False advertising and for the price of the hotel, it’s not worth it. If it was a couple hundred cheaper it would be much more fair for what your getting

Price gouging. Ridiculous almost $2000 for 2 nights. I Will be flying to Mexico for a week all inclusive instead.

If this could get a zero star I would have. From shady cash penalties of nearly $250 for having a small service dog that was perfect to nails raised in the floor to cobwebs throughout the cubicle of a room. We weren’t even sure if the sheets had been changed with stains everywhere. The owners wouldn’t even discuss it with us and we were model clients and it was just for one evening. I would look at other properties this one was terrible in every possible way. We essentially paid $600 for one night, shared bathroom, poor customer service, and a dirty room

.terrible group.

Not sure how to rate this place other than to say it was interesting.|I was a solo traveler on my motorcycle and was looking for cheap one night accommodation. A basic, clean room and this is what I got. I was in a small cabin which offered a queen bed, fridge, heater and coffee maker. This room was clean and basic. The washroom and shower facilities were spotlessly clean but you had to walk 15’ to a small out building. Again, spotlessly clean.|The owners were very friendly and more than willing to help wherever. The evening I was there we had a thunderstorm. I came out in the morning and my bike was wrapped up in plastic. Totally appreciated. Facility also offers a fire pit with wood if you like to sit out and enjoy an evening around a fire. 10-15 walk to restaurants and bars. Overall, basic and adequate.

Staff is deadpan and absolutely void of any expression or empathy. They posted false information in which I booked my stay with- and then proceeded to say "That's what it is" when I found out upon check in and told them that it was actually a big deal and I made my booking based on the information provided not realizing that they are able to list whatever they want without actually providing it.||In my heightened anxiety they kept wanting "more money" for things and not even at ANY point taking accountability for the fact that they LIED. YES- when you say "Private detached bathroom" anyone would read that to mean upon booking that they would get a "PRIVATE detached bathroom." I never thought the word private was transferable and able to be used to also mean "shared." English is my first language.||After having a complete meltdown they then proceeded to call me and with me NOT picking up the phone because I was having a full meltdown they then send another deadpan in the face staff member to come KNOCK ON THE DOOR. Sorry, but when someone is clearly avoiding your phone calls- DO NOT knock on their door.||The child that came to the door admitted that they screwed up (minus the profanity) with the false information and proceeded to tell me that they kicked the other person out of the bathroom and now it's only for me. How am I to believe this- the bathroom is not locked, and frankly they said they cleaned it out- my partner was literally in it 5 minutes before this child came to my door and said it looked the same even after they apparently "cleaned it." There were still cobwebs in the corner etc.||On top of all this, they wanted SOOO BADLY to charge me a 40.00 pet fee. Let's be clear here, I have NO PROBLEM paying a pet fee, this was supposed to be a local getaway for us and we have already spent way more on gas, meals along the way- stuff for my dog and parking at the Grotto and halfway log point. The issue at hand is that this was listed INCORRECTLY and from that point on no one took accountability or even apologized for.||For the first 1.5 hours of my trip I was having to deal with this which completely ruined my trip. For 250 a night- absolutely NOT worth it- the bedding is old and itchy, there are cobwebs in the bathroom and no lights at night leading out to it. The wifi didn't work, your car is pretty much parked on the main road, and clearly the staff aren't helpful nor do they seem to have any type of empathy beyond a deadpan face.||ON top of all this- pet friendly to them (which warrants them to charge 40.00 extra bringing this 100sq ft cabin with a shared bathroom to 300.00 a night) means NO dog on the bed...||Absolutely ridiculous- stay away if you don't want to ruin your trip.|

Not exactly what my wife and i were expecting when we booked, we took a chance on the reviews we read and the fact we couldn’t book anywhere else in town and it was probably the best decision we could of made!!! The cabins are on the smaller side but plenty for 2 ppl as you aren’t spending 24/7 indoors anyway. The cabins are approx 10x12 inside and super clean! It kind of surprised us really being a small outdoor cabin, the layout definitely works! And we are pleasantly surprised! Theres a small fridge and microwave along with a personal keurig. The bathroom is shared with cabin 1 and 2 but its perfectly fine for usage and showering. 1 thing that would be awesome inside is a small bedside light, just something besides the 60-100watt bulb on the wall. It does get damp inside the cabin at night (we visited mid September) but they provide a small modern electric heater which works perfectly fine for the size of the cabin. As for price honestly its probably just a tourism thing but at 160$ per night seems a bit expensive for what the location/cabin is, other places in town are more expensive but the bulk of them are steps into town and all the tourism spots which helps avoid paying for parking. The drive/walk is short but u still have to make that distance. All in all we had a great 2 night stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again in the future but some people wouldn’t be as accepting to the things mentioned above.
