Parking in Canmore is very expensive — $21 for just 4 hours! It’s better to pay directly at the machine because there are fraudulent QR codes posted around that can steal your payment info. Be careful and mindful when paying for parking here. Small parking space but near downtown . Monday to Sunday payment require means everyday !!!

You need to be very careful with Canmore public parking. We found out there are fake QR code stickers on sign boards where you have to “scan the QR code and pay”. It’s a fraud. We did that once and we had to pay for a parking ticket fine around $100 on top of that. Then we started using parking ticket machine (you can pay with coins or card). Please be mindful.

The parking enforcement people are very kind, but the people in the office are despicable. The Resident Parking/Blinkay system is broken, and the town doesn't care about its residents. They only care about taking the tourists money and making it as difficult as possible for the businesses and their employees able to park (they only give 3 hours of free parking, making all the workers pay for the other 5 of their shift).

Super tight spots, beware campers parking with trucks. This is better suited for compact cars but the location is excellent.

We stopped in Canmore at Elevation Place for the Farmer’s Market on our way to Banff. When we got back to the parking lot we had a ticket for parking in a handicap space for $250.00. The area is not clearly marked! There was no painted signage on the road or a sign as you pulled into the space that identified that it was a handicapped space. There was only a small blue sign on a post at the top that said first 4 spots are handicap. We figured that out after we got back to the car. Then when we came back to Canmore a few days later there were completely different signs that said 10 minute parking clearly marked for the first 4 spots. They make it very difficult to fight these tickets. BEWARE of poor signage for parking! 😡
