ETA: the car ended up being totalled by insurance when a different body shop refused to touch it due to sloppy work and more pieces found broken that shouldn’t have been touched, period.

*please note this is a 2 part review, as Carstar Brockville was also involved. Please see my review on them for their handy work that sent us to Perth. While Perth was cleaning up the negligent mess that Brockville placed us in, they also need to be held accountable because it took more broken parts and ANOTHER tear down request through corporate for them to listen*

It is absolutely unbelievable that these guys expect a pat on the back for doing the absolute bare minimum to make the situation better, especially considering how many times we had to go above store level to corporate. First off, let’s be frank that putting gas in the car, switching to the winter tires (which HAD to be done for safety due to the type of summer tire on the car compared to current outdoor weather - please note that when the car was returned to us, ALL FOUR TIRES ON THE VEHICLE were borderline flat. Meaning 1 psi away from the light coming on the dash, and unnecessary wear on the tires that were considered fairly new), and driving the car the hour back to our property is the equivalent to a poke in the nuts with a sharp stick, if you truly compare that to the $12k+ we’ve put into a car in payments for something that should’ve never been fixed, (which the manager of this location admitted to while I was doing a video walk though of the car), on top of the fact one of their sister stores under the same ownership not only put us at danger with their sloppy work, they refused to take any accountability for breaking other things on our car

We had to make two trips out to Perth about this vehicle after being told it was “completed”. The first time, it was because they had not done the teardown that both we and the insurance agreed needed to be done, and once again found new broken pieces from being forced back together. Oh, but they glued the backup camera that Brockville refused to take accountability for back into place, so that counts, right? No, not when you’re also contributing to the negligence issue that Brockville caused by ignoring the request for a teardown. In addition, they wanted us to take it off the lot with the VIN covered by a piece of the dash. The second time we went, they finally had done the teardown to discover that we were right all along about the frame not being straight, and this time we found that the car really still was not in that 95% completion threshold we had agreed upon, but the manager was insistent that it was “the best they could do”. The front end is still noticeably not straight, but the car is now sitting in my driveway because they dropped it off, but at minimum we’re going to have to throw a significant amount of maintenance that was missed out on thanks to Dixon’s Carstar locations having our car for the last 6 months, most of that time spent rotting in the grass! After taking the car for a spin around town, we can say with 100% certainty that the car was still not completed to a satisfactory level.

Lastly, when you see a customer limping across their yard to retrieve their keys out of the car, maybe don’t be a douche and watch them struggle to find the keys, speeding off when asked for help finding them, instead take the 2 seconds to reach back down and hand the keys over.

Definitely DO NOT take your car to a Carstar location, especially under this brand, unless you want to be gaslit, have a bunch of stuff not involved in the accident “mysteriously” break while in their care, and put your life on the line because your car wasn’t properly fixed. There is a lot more that could be said about this entire experience with both carstars, and I definitely did not cover even all of the most important details, but I’m tired bruh. We’ve been fighting about this for far too long, and I just truly hope that both this & Brockville's review prevent anyone else this atrocious nightmare.

We recently had some auto body repairs done at Carstar, and the whole experience was fantastic. We were initially told it would take five days, but to our surprise, they had it all done in just two! Jody, their receptionist, was especially great – under what was a pretty stressful situation for us, she made the whole process so much smoother. Hopefully, we won’t need any more repairs in the future, but if we do, we’ll definitely be coming back to Carstar. Highly recommend!

Carstar Perth recently replaced the rusted tailgate on our 15 year old SUV with a new one they'd sourced for us. Not only did they do a phenomenal job with installation and paint match, but they unexpectedly detailed our truck inside and out. Their skill and customer service is top notch and I'd highly recommend them.

It was such a pleasure to meet the staff that work at Car Star Perth! They made me feel so safe and brought my car back from the dead. They even gave us the left over touch up paint for when the curb rudely jumps in my way. 15/10 stars.
