The absolute worst experience imaginable! If I could give them a zero I would. I have worked in customer service related industries for years and have encountered many different forms of customer service, however, I have never seen or encountered worst treatment than I have from this place.
I had stopped by the unit to retrieve some stuff from my storage and needed the owner to clip off the old lock, left by the previous tenant, in order to pull items from the other end of my unit. The owner had stated he would do this when I initially arrived to rent the unit and had noticed another lock was on it. However, he had not completed the task so I had once again requestes it be removed before arriving. Upon arrival, I had once again noticed this was not completed and when I had requested it again he got irritated and disgruntled towards me. I asked him about removing a vehicle from in front of my unit and he snapped at me and swore at me. When I advised him not to speak to me in that manner he freaked out and raised the bolt cutters in the air, as if to hit me, and screamed at me calling me every unimaginable name you can think of. I was in complete disbelief and shock over his behavior that I wasn't sure how to respond. My father came up to us as he had heard the yelling and once he had arrived the man threw the bolt cutters to the ground. I am pretty sure sure he had intended to hit me with them and most likely would have if my father hadn't shown up; absolutely terrifying experience. He then persisted to call me horrible names and insulted how I looked, my clothing, my weight and had even told me to cut my hair because "I looked disgusting". All of this was done in front of a 7 year old little girl and her father retrieving items from their unit a few doors down. He didn't care that everyone was telling him to calm down and walk away and that his behaviour was inappropriate. He just continued to yell and pick up everything he could find laying on the ground just to throw it down again, like a child taking a tantrum.
This man attempted to kick me off his site claiming it's his private property and I'm no longer allowed there. He said I was not allowed to retrieve my items and that he wanted us gone. I had to call the cops just to passify the man so I could gain access to my unit and remove the few items I needed.
I have since then removed all items from his storage facility and strongly advise that nobody use his services. Especially if you are a woman and expect to gain access to your unit without a chaperone. This man has no regard for women, and as far as I could tell, seemed to have lost his mind over the fact that I told him not to speak to me in the manner he chose (swearing and disrespectful). In other words, he did not like a woman telling him what to do. Even the female cops that showed up were verbally accosted by him and were threatened to be reported to their superiors because he refused to listen to them. This man does not follow Canadian laws and does not abide by the lease agreement he issues. Renting from this man is high for damage to your property and yourself, if I were you I would not take the risk!!
UPDATE: I just found out this business isn't even registered with the better business bureau because they do not condone how he runs his business or the abundance of complaints against him. Do your research people, this racist, sexist little man's business needs to be shut down!!
