Recently, I had to take a taxi to Port Hawkesbury for the first time. Dave's was recommended, so I called them. The driver did arrive at the estimated time and the fare was reasonable.

The driver was operating that old grey dinged Dodge Caravan in a very aggressive manner. The old vehicle was squeaking all over. The engine was loud. The shocks and springs appeared to have died of old age. I have to wonder who issued the NS MVI sticker for that wreck.

I was actually frightened during the trip because the driver was going so fast. He was either hitting the gas or the brakes. He stopped far too close to vehicles when we had to stop for lights and followed too closely when we were moving. The slightest tap from behind, when stopped, would have sent us into the vehicle in front.

The driver was constantly fiddling with his cellphone during the entire journey.

I have no idea about the other drivers, but my experience with this particular driver has convinced me that I will never call Dave's taxi again. The owner needs to hire better drivers than the one I had.

Passenger safety and comfort should be priorities. I took hundreds of taxis years ago when I was working out of province. Never before have I encountered such terrible driving and witnessed so many Motor Vehicle Act violations when using taxis.

NOT RECOMMENDED.

Called for a pick up out in the country to port Hawkesbury... Said it would be 20-25 minutes. An hour later I called again and was told I was refused by a certain driver that starts at 5pm. I think his name is Hafiz or Hafif. The last time I met him he had refused to give me my change... It was a bit of a rough ride. Claiming it had been due to a misunderstanding. Even though we had called the owner during the ride to clarify. This had made me rather upset. I wouldn't call for a ride after 5pm again.

Nice new owner, does everything he can to assist customers. Very friendly and willing to make your taxi experience great. Nice to see some newer vehicles coming up on the road, our town needs it

Simply too unreliable.

The staff aren't necessarily bad peoole. But from a business view. They're simply just not very professional or reliable

I've had a driver talk on his phone to friends/family which is very awkward as the customer riding with him. Multiple times the drivers didn't have the change to split bills which is a huge problem when you don't carry much change and only bills. And there's seems to be an issue with the staffing in general. One day I had a driver not show up for 25 minutes after I called. And had to call again to ask where my ride was. Making me late to my classes.

And today (as of the day I'm writing this review) I called for a ride because the winter weather has made it too icy to bike to classes safely. And I was just straight up refused service because there was only one guy in the entire fleet out driving and he was outside of town when I called. I was simply just told "No". So I was forced to bike to try to make my classes in time and I was late by 20 minutes because of the dangerous icy bike path causing me to fall off my bike on the way.

Like I do feel very bad for them to an extent. Because they're clearly short staffed. That's a tough thing to deal with as an employee. I know.
But if your taxi service of all things is consistently this unreliable and unprofessional. Then what's the point to begin with?

Not only did the driver cut off a transit van but almost caused a 3 car collision and flipped me off! Would not recommend due to they don't know how to drive in our country

Horrid. Husband called for a taxi at 6: 15 am was told it would be 30 min before and cab showed up. After waiting almost an hour still no cab. He called them back and was told the driver was encountered. 20 more minutes and still no cab. Had to call and cancel. Would never recommend this company.

I do not know what happened! Dave's Taxi used to be a good service. Every time I have called for a Taxi in the last couple of weeks, I have been repeatedly given a hard time, by the person that answered the phone, that keeps insisting and arguing with me that my Address is Tim Hortons! (My address clearly comes up on Google Maps, and most GPS apps.) This coupled with the fact that most of the drivers are driving around cell phone impaired, text on one phone, while talking on another cell phone, and driving erratically is scary at the very least! More than once the Driver has sped by my house and slammed on the brakes to turn around due the driver not paying attention to the road!
