Amazing friendly helpful staff ! They go out of their way if you need something. They will get an item off the shelf that you want with your meal like a certain jam or hot chocolate mix.
I had the hearty breakfast delicious!! Everything cooked and present well. I recommend having the curry ketchup for the home fries (they just need to remember to ask if you want bacon, sausages or back bacon with your meal not just giving bacon)
We have tried many items in this store and have lived everything

While the service was very good, food not so much. I expected delicious meal when I ordered schnitzel with sourkraut and onions, mashed potatoes and red cabbage as a side. Here are my ratings:
Potatos-7/10…best tasting item on the plate
Schnitzel-4/10…it is not made the original way
Onions-4/10….funny taste…
Red cabbage-4/10…. No flavour, extremely hard

Too bad because I used to love the food in there but recently it doesn’t taste the way it used to.
Won’t be back. Spent $20 for nothing🥴

I have always shopped at this location because I live close by. However I had a very bad experience today because they do not honor their promotions. At 1:45PM today, I came to grab a sausage on a bun and saw a happy hour flyer giving discounts for purchases of this product after 2PM.

I decided to wait and come back at 2PM bit to avail the promo. However at the cashier, I was charged full price and I was told they no longer ran the promo. I came to show the cashier the poster but it is conveniently removed at around 2PM. We are talking about a small amount of money but it has ruined my experience and trust as frequent customer.

We tried the hotdogs and the Ruben today and it was beyond expectations!! We loved it and we are definitely coming back to try more items
The service was very friendly as well and the atmosphere is cozy and family oriented

Denninger’s is a Hamilton institution, with an incredible selection of gourmet and European specialties. I’m partial towards their cold cuts and meat products, which I believe is one of the best selections in the city. Their hot counter has many delicious options, including sausages, pirogies, pastas and various specials. The store is particularly inviting come Christmas where they have a large selection of imported Christmas chocolates and sweets from Europe. Their counter and cashier staff are always very friendly. My only suggestion would be to have their Downtown Hamilton store stay open later.

So sad to see such an institution as the downtown location decline so quickly. This is the last time my wife and I will make a special day trip from Toronto to the downtown Hamilton Store to enjoy their famous Kitchen.
The servers didn't know-how to make a Denniger Eggwich for my wife and the preparation was unlike we had ever seen; the final product was not pleasing to the eye nor was it tasty!
I ordered one of their famous pork and beef burgers on a bun and also a sausage on aa bun. It was tasteless and both the onions and saurkraut tasted unlike what we have had in the past. I wondered if it was off?
After the unsavory meal, I drove to Burlington stopped, got out of my car and noticed that my knees were swollen. I had great difficulty driving home and walking to my place.
It seems that they have changed bakery supply.
Up until now, we had been going to Dennigers downtown at least monthly for years.

Been coming here forever, classic Hamilton staple the quality has been really consistent over their long time in business and I always find they have great deals if you browse around well. Today was just a short stop with some cured meats and donuts to take back to the city and a breakfast schnitzel sandwich with home fries (14 bucks)
