Since the acquistion of new ownership, the service quality has been going down and TSB has been poping up stopping the fleet from operation, and their IT security is poor, their e-mail system has been hacked with fake email asking for payment to wire to fradulent account, be extra careful with international payment that has an account change all the sudden!!

I went for a tour of the plant, and was very lucky our guide was a young and informative engineer. The plant is spotless and all the people are quite happy. Looks like a great place to work. If you ever get a chance to tour this facility don't pass it up. Thanks again Diamond!!!!!

Update to my saga

After all these issues and two flying seasons lost, I have had to replace the engine as they cannot find what is wrong. Of course, this was at my expense, including the many hours of faultfinding. Diamond coordinated some meetings, but didn’t hesitate to end engagement as soon as possible.

They agreed to provide an air box (as incorrect air box was fitted) and digital tach as a gesture to assist. Only issue I have is they upgraded the aircraft to the A1 configuration and should have installed the correct air box when the upgrade was completed at the factory many years ago, so really a double sided gesture.

Engine has been installed, but we cannot complete without the digital tach. Have called and emailed repeatedly without success. Unfortunately, it looks like they are not interested in assisting me and now I have lost another season.

New shop is very good and responsive, but Diamond Aircraft Canada are not interested in providing a follow through customer service to a small customer like me. I can only assume they are only interested in high paying customers.

Very disappointed with this experience and will never own another Diamond Product. Will be selling as soon as the digital tach is provided so we can complete the installation of the new engine. I don’t even want to fly it at this point.

All in all, terrible customer service and overall service with the exception of the new shop I have been dealing with. Good luck to all you small paying customers!

Purchased a 1996 DA-20 and love the aircraft. Issue is trusting the Diamond Authorized Service Centres. Purchased aircraft with recent 100hr inspection from authorized service centre and had pre-buy done by another authorized service centre. Only minor items found which were corrected.

The issue is, in my opinion, complacency which placed me in a precarious situation. After flying the aircraft from Kitchener, ON to Nanaimo, BC, I was informed by the local authorized service centre the cylinder compression were well below tolerance. After further investigation, it was discovered the previous service centres were using an older manual. This top end overhaul cost $15K which also uncovered a very obvious crack. Albeit, many will say I should have seen it also, but as a fairly inexperienced pilot, my trained eye was not that good.

Second issue was after 40hrs of flight time since purchase, brought aircraft in for annual inspection at the local authorized service centre. They found numerous items which should have been identified during the previous 100hr and pre-buy as, in their professional opinion, the 40hrs would not have cause the damage and wear found. I was informed by Transport Canada it is my responsibility to ensure the maintenance is properly completed. As such, I have downloaded all manuals and studied them closely. I must now oversee the work being done by professionals even though I am not an aircraft mechanic. Total cost of the blunder is $35K.

Lesson to be learned, don't trust the Diamond Authorized Service Centres until they prove themselves and build a relationship with you. This comes at a cost of numerous questions, skeptical analysis and much research from the owner/pilot, as all will tell me, it is the pilot's responsibility to ensure the maintenance is completed in accordance with the manual.

The team at Diamond Aircraft are phenomenal. I bought a brand new Diamond DA62 (N671CB) today for our flight school (Berichi Aviation). The factory is all about aircraft perfection and customer satisfaction. We were also welcomed to an airshow and dinner/open bar by Diamond Aircraft. Many different aircraft suppliers attended—excellent networking. I have gone through 6 different delivery processes for new aircraft in the last 3 years and the experience we had today with Diamond Aircraft was definitely top notch. Big thanks to Sales Director Tony Boros for all his hard work and the rest of the Diamond Aircraft Team for making everything perfect.

I completed the DA62 MX Course at the Diamond Factory and the delivery process for the new Berichi Aviation DA62 N671CB. I would like to point out the exceptional customer service experience I received from Regional Sales Director of North America Tony Boros and Company Pilots Jared and Trevor. The factory far exceeded my expectations. I was able to get an insider perspective of how the factory builds such sophisticated technologically advanced aircraft. I have been in aviation for 17 years and currently serve as the Chief Flight Instructor and Director of MX at Berichi Aviation.
It is easily observed that Diamond Aircraft is clearly the front runner in general aviation. A special thank you to Tech Support Supervisors Andrew and Brody for doing such an amazing job teaching the DA62 MX Course.
