Palliative Care room is the least comforting place for family as they comfort their loved one on their final journey to end of life. I have seen how other cultures honour that journey and this place misses the mark on so many levels, however, the government can give $32 million dollars to a sound studio in Burnside while our loved ones have to put up with this soulless system. I will be a strong voice for this to change, once our journey has concluded. Bet On It !!

Amazing story as many are waiting in the ER for hours, and this amazing woman patient advocate( NV) is going around offering water and then cookies to everyone. Felt like we were at a four star hotel and not an ER waiting room.

Been going to outpatients here for over 20 yrs.. never once improved. There’s always a new unnamed outpatients physician that doesn’t care and just wants to go home. I’ve been lied to, yelled at, completely ignored, and always.. always sent home with my problems never addressed. I’ve seen my own family members go through medical emergencies to only be hooked up to machines for hours completely ignored and told that they couldn’t do anything for them but monitor them anyway, and after finally sending them to another hospital they were sent to ICU and told they would have died if they stayed in Digby any longer. No matter if it’s closed or open, someone in there during an emergency always says “I don’t think it’s anything” without doing any proper checks and tells you to go home. Can this place just go already? They cant even do anything besides monitor your vitals and clean a busted head and I doubt that will change. I’m always forced to go there because it’s the closest hospital but it’s always a complete waste of critical time.
Also the amount of malpractices that happen here because you don’t get the physicians name is astonishingly high. Every time I leave 11+ hours later with nothing done, I’m always like “no wonder people keep dying here”
Seriously, don’t go here if you care about your health.

I received very good care here after getting stung by 5 bees on a nearby hiking trail. Once I managed to stumble inside in ER, the staff got a Benadryl IV drip going very quickly get my hives/swelling down. Staff was helpful, well trained and thorough. ER was clean, well lighted and well equipped. This American says thank you Canada health care workers!

Outpatients is a horrible experience most times. Unless your a extremely lucky person. Was there last night with very high blood pressure etc and waited almost 3 hours still not seen. I had no choice but to leave. Was about 6 or so others there and nobody was seen while I was there. The patient number on the screen never moved until near the shift change. Pretty bad when about 4 seniors are sitting there unseen and a lady with a broken foot sitting there in pain etc for hours. With about 5 nurses all sitting in ther e all around the desk looking like they're socializing. Better off to go the the clinic in Annapolis, much more time effect there. And a few nurse where I bit rude, i don't think they liked being questioned by patients waiting.

I went to the Digby General Hospital today with an issue with my ear. Absolutely everyone was very nice. I had to get an object out of my ear that was bigger than the opening. It was not an easy task, but they took it on and exercised common sense and good skills. I feel lucky to live close to people who are competent , caring and kind. From the time I walked in the door to the time I left it was about an hour and a half. I know that it is the luck of the draw as to how busy staff is when it comes to good service. Sure,,, I may have picked a good day that was not overly busy, but it is nice to know that the staff is used to being nice to people. I won't hesitate to go back.

Been here since 4:30 it’s now 8:30 my friend is pregnant and has bleeding and they’ve had us sitting here waiting and when we ask how much longer they get snappy and say there’s only 1 doctor on right now and we’re next. After I was told this we’re still waiting and it’s been half hour, I would NOT recommend THIS HOSPITAL to anybody! They are rude and VARY slow and do not care about their patients!!!

August 2 I go to the hospital I wait seven hours to see a doctor ,My appointment last about 50 seconds And the doctor writes me a prescription for antibiotics i’m a little annoyed but I smile thank him and take the prescription ,I get to the pharmacy at the superstore the only one I could find open and she tells me he wrote me a prescription for the exact thing I’m allergic to…Take note The two things I’m allergic to I’m very allergic to and yes I have an EpiPen…The doctor did not talk to me about what he was prescribing nor can I read his writing….If the doctor had taken 10 seconds to look at my chart he would’ve known I was very allergic to this antibiotic …..Had the pharmacist not caught this and I went home ,and takin those pills I probably would’ve went to bed and never woke up this is unacceptable this could’ve killed me. I reported this to the board of college physician and surgeon and I am awaiting further instructions , This is unacceptable our doctors get paid good money to be here
