Dinner for 6 included wonton soup and huge egg rolls which was a bonus and good price. The beef in black bean sauce was very tasty. We served and started eating right away cuz we were hungry so I only took two pics.

Great quality and value, friendly fast service.

First time trying this restaurant after looking for Chinese food that was actually open on a Monday.

We were pleasantly surprised and the folks in the restaurant were very friendly and happy to help.

We ordered the jumbo combo and pork fried rice and the kitchen generously gave us a couple of dim sum samples which were delicious.

Everything was very tasty and we appreciated that there was no MSG and first time we had sweet and sour sauce that was not with added food coloring.

Definitely will go back. Looking forward to trying the weekend. buffet.

I posted the current menu as the one I found online was quite old.

Terrible experience.

We were excited to try this restaurant since it’s new ownership. We ordered two combos for one at 7pm on a Monday night. The person taking the order told us 15 minutes. It took over an hour. They got our order wrong and several items were missing. No vegetables, rice, or prawns. We called and the person answering the phone apologized and assured us he would make it right and be sending out the missing items in 5 minutes. We only live a few blocks from the restaurant and it was another 45 minutes before we received that. The chow mein was dry. The sweet and sour pork was the texture of wet cardboard. The deep fried wontons were over cooked and disintegrating. The chop suey was greasy and strangely sweet. What a colossal disappointment! Not worth the headache or stomach ache I now have.

My wife and two of our friends joined us at Dragon Gate. We decided to try the buffet, which was to say the least, not good at all. Spring Rolls, Chicken Wings, Wonton....all tasteless, no flavor. The waitress only came to the table once, so I don't have anything good to say about that. And 2 outta the four of us are now feeling pretty sick. I don't recommend paying good money for food that's not only tasteless, but how you feel after eating it. This is just my experience hope others have a better one. But I will not recommend or eat there again.

Had a delivery of 5 separate dishes brought to our home. We had tried all other Asian food restaurants and NONE hold even 1 star to GOLDEN GATE. A little misunderstanding took place when we ordered and a call was made to the Manager who was extremely polite and courteous, we got it resolved and we have both found a new friend. The food I would rate as a 10 if the ratings went that high. The Management a 10 as well. I think they are new to our town, and I told the Manager that he now has a loyal customer who will always speak very highly of him and his staff and very good food. We are looking forward to going in one day for the smorgasbord that they have on Fri, Sat, and Sundays and personally meeting the Manager and staff and eating more of that good Asian food. I am a 5 star top tour guide for tourist to Quesnel for Restaurants and business. I do hope that this helps Golden Gate Asian Restaurant as they will add a great deal to our community. I believe they also serve some western type meals as well. Best of luck my friend. D.S.

Tried the smorgasbord once again and I have to say that this,was the worst chinese food ever. The wontons in the soup wre completely flavorless, felt like were half flour, the noodles around the wontons wre slimy and just gross. Chow mein was dry and super bland. Most everything we ate was totally void of flavour. The dessert buffet was empty except for a couple of small puddings. The only things that were barely acceptable were the chicken wings and the salt prawns. So sad that they can't produce quality food.

We had the food delivered so I can’t comment on the atmosphere. Food was excellent. Would definitely order again. Delivery driver was prompt and very friendly.
