Called for a tow truck through AMA at 3:30pm for an 18km tow, and was told it would arrive by 6pm— information I used to request a mechanic to stay late at their shop and help me out as I needed my truck the next morning for work. I called ama again, and their update is that the tow truck will be there in a couple hours. Mechanic and I waited until 10pm for a truck that never arrived. Zero
communication. I called them on what’s advertised to be a 24hr line looking for an update with no answer. Called again at 6:30am the next morning and finally someone answers. I ask them- you have the contract with ama correct? And explained that they’re approximately 12 hours late. They say oh yeah, sorry- we have the rcmp contract now too and that trumps everything else. Great way to run a business guys! I realize it’s busy when it’s cold and things happen but a phone call takes 1 minute and gives a person an option to make other arrangements if needed. All said and done, the tow truck arrived at 9:30 am and delivered my truck in one piece after paying an additional fee due to being a new member with AMA and it won’t cover the full distance even after showing up 18 hours late. My final recommendation is if you’re stuck on the side of the road with the risk of freezing to death, probably better off calling someone else.

Tried to get a tow truck through AMA and they sent me these guys, who then tried to make me pay $170 to get my vehicle towed when AMA is free. Extortion at its finest. This is a pathetic company.

Also the shop mech are fast and very fair
they could have taken advantage of me but we're very honest as all I needed was a battery.
Two other mechanic shops were guaranteeing me the problem was more serious.
From Hussein the friendly tow guy to the professional mechanic with a French accent to the front staff, these guys and gals or top notch.
