Worst service out there… drivers are lazy and completely incompetent.
They want cardboard bundled up with plastic packing tape or nylon string(apparently that’s ok for cardboard recycling… They refused to pick up packed cardboard boxes that are smaller than the recycle bins… our town needs a new service provider!

I’ve been living in Espanola for a little over a year now and I must say GFL is the worst garbage service I’ve ever seen here is just some of the excuses, and attitude I have received over the past year

• (there never on time) there has been around 8 times this year there not on time it ether they come at 6:45am to 1:00pm and when there early when they give me excuses like (my trucks haven’t went by there yet there GPS tract and your neighbour’s have magic garbage then with them laughing on the phone) even when I see the trucks on the other side of the road

•( not professional/not responsive)
When I call about issues revolving around my garbage like its not been if picked up yet and asking why looking for a reason just so I know for future pick ups I’m met with sarcasm and attitude even laughter towards me from the main desk and form there female supervisor and the most recent time I lost my cool with them because they kept laughing and they said to call back around 2 if it was not picked up witch pissed me off because the truck drove right by my home and they didn’t tell my why it wasn’t picked up and couldn’t even bring my garbage to the dump because the landfill because it closes at 3 and I have to pick up my kids

They sent out a newsletter about when to put out the garbage and then when checking their website. It’s a completely different time than when I call to ask, witch is witch and what’s going on met with sarcasm and laughter saying that’s not the right time and that it’s closer to 9am to 10am in the morning and at the bag limit hasn’t fact change two bags and which wasn’t mentioned in the newsletter, but was mentioned on their website

There are more instances like these that have been spending over this past year and it’s still ongoing battle with GFL

I did this review because they didn’t pick up my garbage today and the photo shows my garbage and then down the street of all my neighbours magic garbage picked up I feel like I’m being discriminated against an attempted to be pushed out of the city

Im thinking of sending GFL invoices for my time and what they charge at the landfill as well as delivery fees

Pick up is never on time, occasionally too early and most of the time hours too late, drivers look for any excuse to avoid picking up garbage bags.
Calling to inquire gets you attitude to invalidate or trivialize your concerns and retaliatory action like they're children, upset with being called out and anything to avoid accountability.
According to the company my neighbors have magical bins that empty themselves and the big truck with very clear GFL on the side isn't one of theirs.
When I moved here last year they had been consistent and friendly, since this spring, they can't be bothered.

Put out 3 bags sometimes 4 for years never an issue,.. Last week I put out 5 and they wouldn't take 3. This week I compressed it into 2 bags (same size bag just compressed). Driver pulls up and doesn't even try to take one,.. just sat there for 15 minutes on the phone taking pictures of the garbage and laughing on the phone. At the end takes the 2 bags and leaves. We are allowed 2 x 50 lb bags weekly and its still a hassle. Time to leave it at the GFL gate. if they don't take it.

Spoke to a Ryan in espanola office about an issue with garbage not being picked up... he was very rude and ignorant I wouldn't even give them 1 star they need to hire better employees.

I find that these folks are extremely unprofessional...
They complain about a camper trailer being in their way (WHEN IT CLEARLY IS NOT)...
Delivery trucks and transports MUCH BIGGER THAN YOUR GARBAGE TRUCK come down the road no trouble at all...
You claim that it is in the way of you turning around when IT IS NOT...
The turn around is no where near the camper therefore it is NOT in your way...
The immature part is you go crying to the township about your nonsense instead of Calling us directly
(COMPLETELY WASTING THEIR TIME WITH SOMETHING THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!!!!!)...
You sure can't say you don't have our phone numbers because I have called you OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN BECAUSE YOU DO NOT BOTHER TO EVEN COME DOWN TO OUR END OF THE ROAD TO PICK UP THE GARBAGE WE ARE PAYING YOU TO DO...
I HAVE LITERALLY CALLED YOU WAY MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT AND YOU HAVE LITERALLY TAKEN DAM NEAR 5 MONTHS TO DO SO AND ONLY AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS TO YOUR OFFICE!!...
EVEN WHEN I CALL YOU TAKE WEEKS AND MONTHS AT A TIME TO DO YOUR JOB...
And what do you do when you have an apparent problem over nothing...
You message the town office instead of calling us!!...
When I called you in response to that immaturity you are surprised by our anger?!!...
And you then WAWAWA to the township again...
We have been dealing with our own garbage for years because you are just unable to do your job correctly or maturely...
I wish you the best but you seriously NEED to smarten up and grow up

Not sure why there are bad reviews? They were very professional and there response time was excellent. I am from Toronto and they delivered on time at at exactly when I needed the bin. 5 start service!
