All our Dungeons and Dragons content comes from Hourglass Comics. Good selection of figures, books and dice. Lots of board games and we’ve bought a few of them for Christmas presents over the years. Lots of comics and staff are always friendly and helpful.

Other than the noise of the dancing kids in the floor above, this place is really a gem for nerds and enthusiasts alike. More than half of the store is dedicated to comic books and a quarter is dedicated to board games and there is even a room to play the games in. As board gamers, we were delighted to find a copy of Pandemic Legacy: Season 2 at a discount! We didn’t know why it was discounted versus the other copy on the shelf which wasn’t, but we were happy to come away with a game that we knew we’d really enjoy. The store is clean and the people who work there are helpful with finding the right products for you. And it’s just a walk away from Port Moody skytrain station. Street parking available.

First time visiting as we were referred from the staff at Casual Games in Coquitlam.
We wandered for a while, hoping 1 of the 4 people behind the counter would help, but I guess the convo they were having was more important 😒.

The younger female (sorry if I got your pronouns wrong) who was working the register was friendly at checkout.
Might be back, but I will check out other stores first.

Good for buying comics, but not so great for selling. I believe Sean (the manager) was trying to lowball the comics I wanted to sell. It was frustrating because I was testing the waters and had more comics I wanted to sell, including some rare first editions and graded comics. However, he quickly scanned the comics for their “eras” and put a $2 price on each one. I understand that it’s a business, but it felt a bit underwhelming to just look at the eras without actually examining the comics themselves.

On the positive side, the staff is nice. Maybe Sean was just having a busy day, but if you’re looking to sell comics, I recommend checking out other stores. Overall, it’s a cool store, but it’s not the best place to sell comics. I did buy 2 comics earlier in the day and the service was good so that’s why giving it a 3 for buying and 1 star for selling lol

I do not get much but the few things I want Hourglass orders in for me. Every trip I do get some impulse buys as they have a great selection of alternate covers to choose from. The store is chill where I always spend more time than I intend to. Check them out only a 5 min walk from the skytrain.

favorite comic book store in the Vancouver area ( Port moody) they have incredible Comics priced at a dollar. it's been a while since I've been there! first comic book store I'd visit if I went back to that area!

It's rare to find a gem in the wall, especially for comics and board games. Hourglass is just that. Simon, the owner, goes out of his way to make his customers feel welcomed and taken care of. The shop has been here for over 10 years and he has really poured his heart and soul into this shop. It shows with the amount of professionalism, expertise and knowledge Simon has.
If you're in Port moody and you have a craving for board games or comic books at a good price. Look no further - hourglass can satisfy that itch!! If your looking for magic product, Sean is very knowledgeable and pleasant! Although the amount of product for magic has gone down, it hasn't stopped me from coming here.

Really well stocked place for the size, staff are usually polite although sometimes a little awkward. They are quick to help and make my trips here very efficient when I'm low on paints or want to pickup something new.
