We have all had experiences with companies that left us wondering, how are they possibly in business, well, Lake Simcoe Movers is one of those companies.

I must admit, my initial contact with the company seemed professional, and actually pleasant, but that’s where it ended.

Firstly, they showed up with a rented UHaul which I questioned immediately, and was told by the owner, Darren, this is big enough…it wasn’t and required two trips and 12 hours to deliver a 3 bedroom home 20 minutes.

We had nine pieces of furniture that was scratched, and or damaged, several items missing and broken…although the owner indicated they would have enough blankets for our beautiful furniture’…they didn’t, not even close.

The most disturbing part of this interaction happened when the movers needed to back to the house we sold for a second trip. They were left on their own for a period of 30 minutes, during that time, they raided my fridge and drank our 12.5% Tequila shots. Sounds like a comedy right? No…it turned into a freaking nightmare.

Arriving at our new home, drunken and totally out of control, they proceeded to throw all of our items in the basement, since it was easy access, in a huge pile that took us three days to clean up and spent the first day doing dump runs for our broken items.

Of course I contacted the owner Darren and he said ‘anything is fixable, so let’s talk tomorrow’. Well, tomorrow never came despite numerous calls, texts and emails.l was ghosted.

If anyone had thoughts of hiring a moving company, this is not the one. If anyone has any doubts of what I am saying here, contact me directly and I will provide emails, texts and pictures.

Check The Better Business Bureau as well, they have an F rating.

Darren and his team at Lake Simcoe movers exceeded my expectations when they moved me in July this year. They were really friendly, efficient and made a stressful day more enjoyable.
I was amazed at how quick this team works and how they can pack so much stuff in their truck. Everything made it and nothing was damaged. The quote he gave originally was what I paid. There was no hidden fees. He was up front and honest.
Darren also came to support and de- escalated the situation when the new owners showed up and were being confrontational. He just knew what to say which was super helpful.
In my opinion Darren and his team went above and beyond. I really appreciate them and their hard work. I'm really happy I chose them for my move.

Darren and his.team were so great with Tuesdays move. Starting at 10am in Toronto to empty my condo and bring everything up to Keswick. Unpack it all with 3 workers and then off to green storage to empty a very full locker and bring everything over to the house as well, with again 3 workers. So much energy from all of these guys. Darren led the team with respect and humour and set an amazing pace. I’ll definitely be recommending Lake Simcoe Movers in the future.

They had to get everything in two runs but never charged extra, only the price quoted. Great guys to work with and I will definitely recommend to everyone I know! Job well done guys!

Darren and lake simcoe movers took 900$ from me and never refunded me the money they owed me after cancelling 2 days after he requested I pay the amount in full. Has been 3 months and all calls texts and promises to refund my money have no been ignored and no response for over a month

I would have recommended him before as he moved me 2 other times with no issues and good service but scamming a customer out of 900$ and promising, and then ignoring there requests for a refund is extremely bad business and not a company I would ever recommend.
