In the last few months, I received two 20-foot containers full of household goods from abroad and locally they were delivered by Mackie. I had problems with the one coming from Italy and Serge helped me to go through the difficult situation as much as he could even past office hours. Both times the guys were super professional delivering the items with care, nicely and quickly assembling the furniture when needed, and removing all the packing material before leaving. I am very satisfied with their service.

I've never seen a job executed with less care, or common sense. A lot of my stuff was damaged. 5 cu boxes with fragile marked on them, were so top heavy I could barely lift them. The stuff inside obviously crushed. One box had a ceramic pot (now broken) with an open razor blade knife inside. My TV broken. Left all the power supply cords for my TVs behind, and my washer hoses as well. Could barely communicate with the movers. Stupid me chose to unpack myself, and they said by agreeing to do that I wasn't waiving my rights to claim Damages. They lied because they wanted to get out of there faster. Now because I was dumb enough to believe them, and because I couldn't get them out of my house fast enough I cannot claim any Damages. Just the worst overall experience ever, by a crew of completely useless and careless "movers".

Wouldn't trust them to move my drink across the table. Had couch/loveseat delivered. Gave an 8 hr window and didn't show up until the 8th hour. Waited all day with no updates for no reason. Showed up with an undersized truck which explains them being last minute due to making multiple trips to the furniture store to reload. Hired help didn't have a clue on how to move a couch. Needed to call Furniture store for instructions on how to take backs off couch and disassembled most of the couch just to get it in a full size door. (not required) They have a damage waiver for them not to be responsible for anything for a reason. Its because they damage stuff. Bad service, Bad help, Zero training/support and they damage stuff but somehow it isnt their fault. Don't hire them or have anything delivered by them unless you want to disappointed and pay for repairs..

We recently moved from England to Moncton and our shipment company in the UK used Mackie's for our furniture move from Halifax to Moncton. From arranging the delivery date through to the guys being at our door it was so positive. Professional and yet carful with our items but also friendly, they actually came on a day when it was snowing heavily in October and that was no problem for them. They made sure to lay down carpet and was carful when unpacking. I would 100% recommend them to others as I was quite nervous having such valuable items being moved from another country but they all came in one piece. Names of the team - Gurwinder, Sanil, Gurpreet, (sorry if this is not spelled correctly - G Knenra?) All of them were great. Thanks again.

My international delivery by Mackie Moving was superb! Gurwinder and Sahil were professional and worked diligently and efficiently on delivery day. They remained cheerful throughout a very long day! Just in case anyone out there is considering a move, DON"T use Mackie Moving Systems. Almost a year ago, we moved from Halifax to Port Royal. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which can be found on the BBB site. The company was contacted by the BBB, but received no answer.
"I have photographed the damaged articles and filled out the forms for a claim with the company. This was done last June. Sorry to say, that the crew that packed and moved our belongings did not label nor record any inventory, but simply loaded the boxes as quickly as possible. Richard and I are upset with the casual treatment of our belongings. Boxes, clearly labeled by us, were delivered to the wrong space. Items were stored, or delivered upside down. Fragile warnings were clearly not heeded. Several boxes were wet, one containing books. Furniture was scratched, and my family organ that I was using as a desk has a split in the wood that travels down one side. Due to the time restriction for reporting, we submitted our claim report last June. Other things were also damaged and we found a live cockroach in our belongings after delivery. This was not what I had expected. We are very disappointed. Some of the items that were damaged I consider priceless, as they were family heirlooms. Others are artwork, which, once damaged, drop drastically in value. If I had known, I would have gone with another company. Hoyts has moved us in the past and everything came through without damage, well-documented complete with stickers on the packed goods and furniture and a written inventory a copy of which we were given. The individual in charge of the move was disrespectful when I noted the broken ceramic planter. ( BEFORE IT WAS EVEN LOADED!) I should have realized at that point what the move would be like, but it would have been hard to change moving companies as our house was closing in two days. They offered us a $200 refund, which we did not cash, as it was not satisfactory compensation."

The easiest part of my move and smartest. They quoted my move and held the price. They were able to pick up from my storage locker. They shipped my furniture from Ontario to Nova Scotia. They were on time and very punctual. We received our contents with no damage. Easily the best decision I did was to choose this company to help with our big move.

This was the second move I did with this company. The first one was a move-in from an international move (I had no choice in using them), but on my second move within Atlantic Canada, I had Mackie pack, move and store my home items (4 bedroom home). I paid for climate controlled storage and extra handling to move these items into that storage, and then back out of storage, delivering all to my home. After four months, my items were delivered. It was obvious my items were never removed from the original truck and that my home items had remained on the trailer in an outdoor environment the entire (summer) time. There had been a leak in the truck where rain water must have gotten in, and there was black mold growing on rugs, boxes and other personal items (aside from multiple broken boxes) – all of which I documented with photos before removing from the truck. The crew was very apologetic, but after the move-in, I confronted their management (in writing) about why did I pay for climate controlled storage (and extra handling costs) when my items were not cared for in that way. All I asked for was, what was fair: I requested they remove the charge for climate controlled storage, as well as the extra handling charge. I never got a formal answer or admittance to the mishandling. The local team never contacted me, but their corporate office settled by sending me a minor check for the “mischarge” of $1000. (-which was still under the value of what I paid for.) Very disappointed and sad that they did not do what was right. Very unethical to charge a customer for climate controlled storage and not do that, especially of personal art, antiques and entire home goods. If you use this company, do not trust what they say, and go and see your items in the storage for which you are paying. I learned a very valuable lesson.
