Really bad service. I went in to pick up my second car with my son and they followed us to our parking spot to ask us how long we were going to be because they closed in 10 mins. We were literally getting into our car to leave. Then when I told the employee at the exit to maybe chase down the van that was still unloading, the employee started yelling at me. I told him that he could see we were getting into our car and leaving. He just went on bad mouthing.
If we wanted to sit there until 5pm we could but we actually respect people wanting to get home at closing time. I do not recommend this location. This is not the first issue I have had with this location and I have not rented a space for a year.

Experiences so far after having just put stuff in storage:

Booked this after moving my two sons out of residence, with plans to move it to their new place in the fall.

We booked this in early March - all size lockers were available. As we have two kids at Queens we were unsure what size would fit their stuff. Elected to go with the 5' x 10' x 10' size in the NON-climate controlled facility for around $134/month. As shown in the picture, this size is MORE than enough to hold the stuff of two boys (including.a bike, and two extra minifridges).

Filling out the online lease was easy and communication with the staff was clear. Upon signing in, it was easy to get access to the facility and locate our unit. The only curiosity was while there was a light in the unit, there wasn't a clear way to turn it on. I suspect it comes on automatically in the evenings.

Will provide an update when we get our things.

We had a really frustrating experience with this storage unit company. We rented a unit for a while, and after the belongings were cleared and we officially signed out, they continued charging for 3 more months. When we contacted their management multiple times, we were met with unhelpful responses each time.

They claimed that we hadn’t canceled properly, even though we followed all of their procedures and went to the front desk to report the lock was off and everything was out of there, and the front desk said everything was good to go. When we called management, they claimed they could not refund because they did not have the documentation of us leaving the unit, but they suspiciously knew the exact date we left.

This feels like a scam, and we are now in contact with our lawyer and disputing these extra charges with the bank. If you're considering using this company, beware of their shady billing practices. Once they have your payment details, they seem to have no interest in actually letting you leave without charging you for more time than you used. Imagine if we had not caught this now, they would have stolen a lot more money from us.

I would never trust them again and strongly advise looking elsewhere. If you did rent a unit here and left, check your credit card right away to make sure you are not being billed.

Been here for over or about 3 years.
Great place.
Rough at first with communication. NOW WOULD RECOMMEND Martin's Storage to everyone. Most friendly, kind and understanding staff. I still do not like the no lights in units when office closed. I don't mind calling during hours to gets lights on and off otherwise. Prices have gone up everywhere, still happy.

My experience with Martin's People's Storage (42 Terry Fox) was excellent. Each time I have been into the office I am treated well and courteously. My unit was ready on time and clean as a whistle. I would recommend these storage units highly. One other thing... they have so many units, you can rent a unit of reasonable size for under $100.00 tax in. Good value compared to the competition.

Rented 10x20 non heated unit for 8 months to store my stuff while I waited for PMQ.

Size was great, price was better than other storage places in town, communication with staff was good always able to answer my questions. Rows are wide enough. Most vehicles will easily fit, don't show up with bus or Semi and you should be fine.

My only issue, which is more of a personal thing, no 24 hour access, but I knew that before I rented.

Another example of community businesses who prioritize getting that extra profit out of a customer by way of charging $95 penalty if you leave the facility 4 minutes late because it took you 10 minutes to get the door on the unit closed ever so perfectly so that you can put the lock through the holes... that are just big enough to leave no room the door to be not shut the exact amount. Another time I was 3 minutes late walking out and the access to leave was denied and I was locked in. I had to crawl under a fence way at the back and toggle down a hill through some trees and then walk a couple blocks back to the gate where we were parked. And of course, the sneaky rental payment that one would think was monthly payment due roughly the same time every month. But nope. Why would that be? Too easy, too normal and too kind to the customer. Instead, I have a 28 day cycle of payments that started on the 20th a few months ago and now are due on the 10th. Then when you come in on the tenth surprise you aren't allowed to go in until you pay. I get it. No pay no stay. So a great example of how to squeeze every drop out of your customers.
