We recently moved to Wingham and chose this pharmacy because of the history of the store and the generosity and kindness of the Vance family, who once owned the original store. As the local reporter in town, I have heard many good things about them and their store. And of course, there's the Vance fund.
So I recommended to my husband to use that pharmacy when it came time to choose one of the two available in town.
I am regretting that decision now.
My husband is on several medications for life due to a heart attack years ago. He purchased coverage through his work to help pay for these things and he has had zero issues at any other pharmacy for the direct payment. Initially, after his first visit, where he was warmly received and reassured that they would take care of everything (regarding billing) they have refused to take care of anything. They had an issue with the card, which is valid, and now have made him pay up front and get reimbursed, which is not the way his plan works. No help, no taking care of everything, just a frustrating experience for my husband, who had to call his provider each time they refused, and I can say from experience, that is not a simple or quick process, just to relay messages back to the pharmacy. Wouldn't taking care of everything include sorting out any issues?
Additionally, absolutely no communication, they didn't call to let him know there was an issue or even to let him know his prescription was ready. Is this how customer service is now?
He went in and paid for his prescription again tonight instead of more confrontation, and to get his list of meds to take across the street to the other pharmacy.
I honestly don't think the Vance family would be happy at how their wonderful legacy is now and how they are treating the residents of the town they held so dear.

Everyone please count your medication

I have been shorted more then once with the lady working.

She is rude. Told me to be quiet and listen and that I am wrong and 3 people counted. Which was incorrect 2 did and it was rushed as I was in pain..

They need to learn to have better attitude with customers who are in pain and honest when stating there medication is off by 5 pills .

Not happy. Will be find new place unless Micheal can fix this and address.

Count your stock and recount .

Michael the pharmacist in on Thursday treated us fantastically, he was so helpful and caring and really went above and beyond to meet our needs.
The store is squeaky clean, lots of items to browse, easy parking - staff was pleasant, when the lady we had spoken said "I don't think we can do that but let me ask!" That's literally all you can ask for, and Michael was able to help us out. Thank you so much, I feel so much better knowing that my uncle has the proper medication incase he has a heart attack!

The girls get along so well. Pharmacist isn't an old stuffy grump. He's nice doesn't make you feel like you're holding him up and answers all questions you have.

Prescriptions were monthly, 30 days and no refill even 1 day early if there happened to be 31 instead of 30 days in a month. Keeping track by date is much easier than counting the 30 days each month and marking down when to call. Calls made days in advance still left me arriving to find my medication not even ordered so then past the 30 days but no compensation for days missed. .. plus the medication is daily for a reason, if they insist on 30 days then they should be just as solid at making sure the customers medication is there.
