Had booked a pickup for a taxi to get me from the seaplane terminal 2 days prior to my arrival. Confirmed same day and flight came in 10 early. Called dispatch and was told car is almost there. Called back 5 min after scheduled time because car was late. Was told the driver needed to pickup cellphone charger because of some new dispatch system to track the cars. Car showed up 15 min later. Total of 30 minutes waiting on a scheduled pickup. I missed my ferry heading south to Vancouver after I picked up my vehicle to go home. Turned my 4 hr day to a 8 hour day. Not impressed. Zero customer service.

Extremely inconsistent service!
At times prompt and friendly, other times.. non existent.
Booked a ride to the airport several days ahead as there were 3 connections in total so making the first one on time was extremely important. She booked the pick up and took my cell number.
Called an hour ahead the day of flight to confirm pick up…. No answer. Called a total of 10 times, no answer.
Luckily I knew someone that could take me.
Something as important as making flights on time and they didn’t have the decency to call to say they couldn’t make it or to arrange another ride or even to simply pick up the phone…
Extremely bad when they are in the “people moving” business…

Most undoubtably the most ignorant and disrespectful driver and dispatch I’ve ever had to deal with!! In speaking to some locals I was informed that it’s the only taxi stand in town and was told that the last mayor who monopolized the town set it up so there would never be another taxi stand allowed to be set up as he did not want any competition! I don’t typically rate anybody as everybody is entitled to an off day but these people let down way too many times. I would also like to mention that their web site (joke) advertises it’s open 24 hours a day 7 days a week but they are not, you’d be lucky to get a cab after 8pm on a good day! People need proper taxi services in a small community like beautiful Powell River! I’m hoping I get challenged by the cab company so I can elevate this monopolizing situation leaving tourists and visitors stranded at the ferries, airport, after a few drinks out on the town etc.

It appears I am made to give this “service” a single star, which after tonight’s experience, it far from deserves. While on my third day here and using exclusively their monopolized service, I simply had to cope with the rude dispatch and thought oh well just an unhappy woman who doesn’t care about customer service and obviously doesn’t have to as she is the only show in town.

Waiting for a full hour for a taxi ride back from a nice restaurant, happy to spend money, to only have the night completely ruined. We called twice as the hour was up wondering what was going on, only to be given some generalized comment. Even the restaurant which is by now wanting to close, they call on our behalf too.
We are wondering if we could be stranded.

When this elderly woman does arrive, my son and I experienced a driver who had zero business being behind the wheel day or night, providing straight disrespect, and literally threatens to dump us on a dark road.

I asked her if I could put my window down for a minute (the car had such a noxious odor,) I apologized to her for just asking even though she did not like that. At that point she decides to pull out recklessly onto the main road as a car is coming straight towards us and nearly smashed right into the drivers side and where my son was sitting behind her. Completely scared us.

Of course, I speak up and say could you please drive carefully as that was very close.
Seconds later she has the audacity to say if I wasn’t happy, I should just get out right now in the middle of nowhere as she starts to pull over like she was really going to dump us out. My son and I were both totally in shock at that moment. This woman was unhinged.
I said I simply want to get home safely and that that’s a fair request.

I tried to make chitchat with her saying, maybe the company could use an extra driver and it would be less stressful for everyone.
Well, she didn’t like that either believe me and as we are pulling into the large cul-de-sac where our Airbnb is, she stops at the beginning and said yet again to get out because she doesn’t know which house?
I said I thought we had given the address at 3 times and she goes crazy saying “do you think I can see it from here “
it’s in the cul-de-sac so get out ~
Suddenly she threatens to call the police on us!!!!
I couldn’t believe what was happening and next thing I know she’s calling dispatch threatening police…. Dispatch says get the lady out of the car.
I only thought she might’ve had a GPS and could bring us closer.
I don’t know it’s 2014. It was dark yes but I didn’t know it was my job to find the house anyway my son says mom we need to get out of here as if I had done something wrong….. I am in absolute shock walking up into the cul-de-sac to find the house. My son is checking that we don’t leave anything in the taxi and then she starts to have the nerve to warn my son that he better be careful of me. How in the world any of this is appropriate anywhere in the world I do not know.

If people accept this abusive behavior, this only will continue and make people not really want to come here and spend money not to mention leaving here with a VERY bad experience.

Tomorrow I will go by ferry across to Comox and rent a car to finish our last 2 days here.

I regret so much that I believed a small town taxi company that happens to have a monopoly in Powell River could manage taking us about town at least 8-10 times without incident.

A BIG THANK YOU!!!!!
In town for a wedding. Called last minute to get all 5 of us out of town on very short notice. Very friendly. Answered all my questions. I called them back several times. They patiently answered them every time I called. 1:30pm pickup was right on time.
Pre-booked a 11:20 pm pickup that same evening. They showed up on time.
We were all able to enjoy the evening.

Taxi was late
Taxi smelled like cigarettes
Taxi driver did not wear a seatbelt

Taxi driver started the meter late and made up number about how much it would cost because of this

Taxi driver ranted about politics and the economy during the entire ride.

The service was overpriced

Says they are open 24 hours but I called from 530-7 am and no one awnsered and when I used them before they were late and driver seemed as if he wasn't quit there
