Administration is rude, unhelpful, and ignorant. They just quote policy to parents and rehearsed statements when you ask questions or for route modifications. They appear to have no knowledge of the area, the route times or the logistics of routes, or pick up and drop off locations. A simple request to have my child wait on our driveway was met with the administration repeating their policies, and my request just ended up getting denied anyways.

Last week the buses were cancelled for 3 days and this week has already started off with bus cancellations. The reason for the cancellation is 'extreme cold'. Am I missing something? Is it not extremely cold in the City of Ottawa as well? They have not cancelled their buses today and did not cancel their buses last week due to cold either. It's -35 with the windchill in Ottawa, just as it is in Arnprior. Why are the kids in Ottawa OK to dress appropriately for the weather and then take the bus to school but our kids are not What exactly are my tax dollars paying for? Cancelling the buses impacts my child's education and also has an impact on my employment when I have to take time off work to get children to school, or take days off work all together so that they have child care. In what dimension does this make sense Who makes this call and what gives them the right to decide if we as parents can ensure that our children are appropriately dressed for Canada's Winter Weather I am thoroughly disgusted with the Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium and their inability to realistically assess whether buses should be cancelled or not. The buses get cancelled on days when bad weather doesn't even occur. The buses get cancelled on winter days, when they decide it's too cold for a child to wait for the bus. As children we dressed appropriately and we waited for our buses. Why are our children any different? Unless City Officials are suggesting that vehicles stay off the road so that they can salt and plow them, there should be no reason to cancel school buses. And exactly when can I expect anyone from RCJTC to respond to my complaint and my concerns as a parent Do my tax dollars not pay their salaries

3 weeks our childs bus has been cancelled. Their solution is to blame Valley Transportation and contact the government. Not good enough

Poor attitudes. You know who you are J**f.
Cancellations for no good reasons.
No proper setup in place to be dropped off at baby sitter vs home drop off. (We don't all work perfect jobs where it's nine-to-five in routine some of us have to take what hours we can get)
Expect our children to walk down the side of highway 17 with snowbank so high they pretty much have to walk on the road or the only alternative is they suggest trespassing on the neighbor's property.

Now to top it off today 30 feet from the end of the driveway of the neighbor's property that we have to trespass on where they have to get picked up and he just looks at us and drives by because we were running 30 feet late.

It's time we wipe out all their employment and get a new company that knows what they're doing.

oh yeah and also got to remind them to turn on their flashing lights so vehicles stop passing them when they pull over for a pickup/drop off..

The staff are out of touch with the parents, students, bus drivers and bus companies. It's so frustrating to find out there would rather put students safety at risk to save a few cents in operating costs. When it comes to route planning there're "out to lunch" they have no idea about the area (no sidewalks, busy roads or dangerous intersections). They don't care about student safety and won't listen to parents.

Disgusting! Services are subpar. Staff are rude. They have an "appeal" process so that they can re-iterate the guidelines. This administration is stuck back in the area where there were stay at home moms that could adjust their schedule to meet the subpar service. They expect my children to walk and cross a highway to catch the bus!!

They've been super helpful in the last week while they're probably understaffed and trying to get everything set up for school. Kim is absolutely fantastic.

Their decision on whether the buses should be canceled seems hazardous and random selecting days when nothing happens and leaving people to dangerously drive on days theyes have no right to suggest doing
