Very poor service, expensive, and Alex is intimidating and rude.

Kyle, Alex’s helper, was excellent and did all the heavy lifting by himself! Alex would just push boxes and tape blankets.

No floor coverings were laid out so my flooring is damaged from water, ice salt, and mud!

Alex would always say, “you’re the customer…we do what you want.” But that’s so far from the truth. Alex does what he wants and will stretch out the time it takes.

Near the end of the job, he will present you with the contract and if you do not pay what is owed, he will threaten to not finish the job or charge more to get it done, if you don’t agree to it.

I was overcharged and had a horrible experience that still haunts me to this day. I do not want anyone else to have to feel cheated and scammed by this company. Spend your valuable dollar wisely and go elsewhere.

Phoning “customer service” to have Alex twist the words is not an option. My words are just ignored. I had an easy move to do and it should not have cost me $2,300!

My faith in fair and honest treatment has been shattered. Do not trust this company to do the right thing! They are crooks!

Alex is a scammer. He gave me a quote over the phone to move items out of my storage bin into my apartment for $500. I told him that I had lots of big heavy furniture. I gave him a $100 deposit. He barely listened to what I was saying and told me he’d be there the next day.

Next day he was late, he brought a huge truck which we didn’t need and an older woman with him to do my move. There’s no way the two of them could have moved all my heavy furniture. It required major heavy lifting, which I told him.

He took one look at my storage bin and said I didn’t tell him how far it was away from the apartment and said I didn’t tell him about the half flight of stairs. But I did tell him all this when he gave me the quote. He wasn’t listening when I told him all this.

Then he announces that he’s not doing the move because I didn’t tell him everything. He argued with me on the street. I begged him to do what he said he’d do but no. So fine, go then. But do you think he gave me back the $100 deposit I gave him? No! He refuses to return the $100 because he said he spent that on gas for the truck getting there. Which remember, he didn’t need.

He made me cry on the street by yelling at me, then he refused to give my money back when he did nothing to earn it. I couldn’t afford to lose that $100, it literally was our food money.

Alex scammed me, I believe he meant to scam me all along because I was desperate for someone to help me.

Don’t use this company, they are unethical.

I would not work with Right Move again.

For context, they moved my one bedroom apartment’s worth of stuff into their storage facility, and then moved everything into my new place several months later.

Pros: To be fair, they are effective and take care with the move. Alex and Kyle did my move. Both did a great job, wrapped my things well, were very meticulous. Kyle particularly worked very hard. This would otherwise be a one star review.

Cons: I don't feel that Right Move is clear about their pricing before the move process, and I can't tell if that's intentional or not. They are vague about the final price until the move is in progress or is already done. They then ask for a very high price while the customer is under pressure to accept.

When I was quoted for moving my things into Right Move's storage, I was told there would be a 19% fuel charge. I assumed that would be 19% on top of the fuel used, which, fine, whatever, I'll chip in some gas money. However, I find out when I'm handed my bill that it is 19% of the total bill cost, and the fee was over $200 for a small move.

Similarly, when I needed to move my things out of storage, I was charged a 4 hour "minimum" move time at $155/hr, for a something that did not take 4 hours. Plus charging 19% on storage costs and the second move, bringing the "fuel charge" to close to $250 the second time.

They were also late to the move. Alex argued it was my fault because I had a motorcycle in their storage facility, and apparently I had to read his mind to know that it was at a different facility despite that never being communicated to me. He then tried to charge more for his mistake when he arrived.

When negotiating the price, Alex reacted very angrily on the phone and in person, including raising his voice and calling me names like liar and thief. He also insinuated that he wouldn’t release my things from storage if I wanted to just come pick it up with a Uhaul because I objected to the move price.

Personally, I think these tactics are unacceptable for a business owner. Be warned, and read the other reviews that have had pricing issues.

To clarify based on the response below, it was never clear to me that I was agreeing to have Right Move move my things once I took it out of storage, and I never signed an agreement stating that. I never asked for free loading when taking my items out of storage. I said I would pay for Right Move to load my stuff out of their storage facility, and I would transport it and unload.

Alex and his colleague came to rescue us. The previous company that was about to move us from Edmonton to Vancouver ditched us on the morning we had it scheduled to pack. We called Alex, right on July 1, he came on the next morning, and we packed and loaded the truck during 16 hours non-stop. We had a packed house and filled the whole truck. He organized to deliver it for me in Vancouver on the best way possible.
They were very professional, polite, careful with our belongings, and punctual.
I recommender their services, and if I need to move again, I will be calling Alex again.

I must praise wonderful Right Move company. Alex and his staff who did packing, moving and transportation of family belongings both locally and nationally have been so amazing, quick, organised and highly reliable to work with. On top of all these services, they also remove from location all unwanted belongings and distribute them to donation centres, recycling, dumpsters, etc. To be able to work on a large, time sensitive and multilayered move with obvious experience and professionalism is so appreciated by me as it made my life a lot easier. We have moved 10 times over the past 30 years and Alex was without a doubt the best mover we have experienced. The way he protected each piece of furniture was unlike any other mover and we had not one piece of furniture damaged. The care and attention he paid to moving things in and out of our home meant there was no scrapes or scratches on or walls or floors. Alex was easy to contact and very responsive to any request we had. He was always punctual and worked as long as needed to get the job done. This is a outstanding mover!

WARNING PLEASE READ DO NOT HIRE OR LEAVE DEPOSIT GO SOMEWHERE ELSE 2341 dollars,was my 8 hr move, he posted that he charges 190 per hr 2 guys. They wasted my time. Talking on phone and arguing with my wife and son as to why they can't move things. We packed and wrapped our own stuff to save money, the owner or truck driver ripped open all my stuff and re wrapped it. Then he complained that they can't handle a 3 bedroom house move
Movers refused to move heavy items like my 6 drawer dresser, but took the washer and dryer very hard to deal with and they will hold you hostage as soon as they show up. They will refuse to move you because it's to hard, but take your deposit to move you.THEN BEFORE YOU PAY HE SHOWS YOU A HUGE BILL. AND WONT MOVE YOU IN IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED. AND TAKE IT TO STORAGE. TWO GUYS WHO ARE WEAK AND THEY EXPECTED MY DISABLED FAMILY TO HELP WITH THE MOVE HOW RUDE AND THATS WHY I HIRED MOVERS NO RESPECT .
