I handle bills for my 93-year-old cousin. Back in November 2024, when she was hospitalized, we cancelled her home alarm service with SecureTek Monitoring Solutions (a SaskTel company). SecurTek said, billing stops in December.
Fast-forward nearly eight months—guess who's still helping themselves to her bank account? Yep, SecurTek. Despite promises, reassurances, and enough phone calls to earn a Customer Service loyalty card, they kept dipping in.
So I turned to the bank. Surely they could block the charges? Nope. Only SecurTek can cancel the authorization. We paid $25 for a temporary stop payment. It clawed back two months’ worth—but not the full amount. Then SecurTek struck again in June.
Early this week they claimed they’d investigate and refund what they owe. Yesterday they backpedalled. Again.
When the stop payment expires, it’s back to square one—or we cough up another $25. The bank admits it’s illegal, but enforcement? Nonexistent. Legal action would cost more than what SecurTek owes.
Late today, coincidentally after I posted these details on social media, SecurTek called to apologize and say they would stop taking more money wrongfully. They also offered to send a refund for the bank charge. It's a commitment they've made before. What are the odds this time?

Been dealing with this problem for weeks.
91 year old mom pendant dies. She was told to send her old one in weeks ago. It is now May 30th
I have phoned a couple of times this week, different answer every time the first answer at the start of this week was the postal problem is the reason why.
And all of a sudden now miraculously in the next day, May 30 they say they've just mailed it.
I've asked for a manager to phone me to discuss this as we're dealing with a life here with no proper monitoring system and two days go by is 0 phone call.
It's not the people on call center but when a manager's asked to be phoned they should phone.
Case number 550-...
They now on the 30th of May have said a manager will phone me it is 2:30pm in the afternoon and I have received no call as of yet. To be honest I probably won't get one.
It's funny if it was their mother that had no proper protection would it be a problem or just an complaint!!!!
As well I was shocked when I looked at reviews and seen so many one stars for a company that's supposed to care for people's lives.

Well it's been a whole week and a manager still hasn't phoned but I did get a email stating the fact that they did their best that they could to get a pendant to my 91-year-old mother within 30 days.
They did offer 1 months credit on her account, but a simple call from a manager would have been nice.
But then again hide behind the keyboard that seems to be the better option for these managers

Dear reader, take these online reviews very seriously. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am not alone. Just read the reviews. Anything takes days to resolve, and you have to deal with a horrendous and impolite customer service that thinks they are doing you a favour. You essentially pay so they can be rude at you!

This company is an absolute disgrace and should not be allowed to operate. They fail to deliver on every aspect. They offer goods that they do not follow through on, cameras fail to work when you actually need them and their customer service is an absolute joke. Can’t get an honest answer out of them. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND STAY AWAY

I would not suggest using this company. My mother lives in a seniors building and was provided a presentation, then she, along with many others were pretty much forced to sign on the spot with no time to read terms of agreement nor were advised they were all committed into a 3yr contract without knowledge. The product sold to them was so minimal that it only would help them in their unit. My mother walks 10 plus km a day which doesn’t help her if she fell outside. I found a more suitable product for her with gps, less monthly subscription fee, with no commitment when I called to cancel subscription, was advised “sorry she’s signed for a 36 month contract”. Because she was pressured to sign this contract without my knowledge I was able to get her out of it, BUT only because I have POA, and had to prove it before they would cancel!
If associates from this company come knocking at your door

If I could give a negative review, I would. DO NOT USE this company's Medic Alert product or Service!! After three weeks of effort, pain, confusion, and zero support, I still don't have a functioning product for my mother. Customer service was beyond bad, with no support at all. In addition, their product disabled my mother's main phone line which left her completely cut off and worse off. I've spent many hours on hold for support and have been told "someone" from tech would call me to assist or install properly and so far after 3 weeks I have received zero calls. Only a crown-funded corporation could keep something so dysfunctional afloat. Don't walk.... Run away from this company and keep your family safe with a different product.

I am struggling to come out from contract. They are keep sending me invoices for false alarm fees, which are completely fake. The invoice is also not for a small amount they are keep sending me 201.14 cad for every month. Their customer service number doesn't work.
Don't trust this service provider, and also, if anyone knows how to take legal action, please help me.

0/5 stars. poor customer service. be careful about the 48 months contract. its a scam, 3 months into the contract. alarm system has already been having problems. triggering alarm while causing hassle to secondary contact and all the other people in the house. called to cancel, basically you have to pay even if you are not using the services. rather go with Telus, most people I know didn't have any problems with it
