We had such a bad experience that I thought it was worth sharing it publicly so other people know what to expect. I arrived with my family who had just landed in Canada as PR's to obtain their OHIP cards. The employee sitting at window 10 at approximately 1:40 pm on September 23, 2025, started off with the worst attitude possible, when he asked us for proof of residence from my family, since they had just arrived (the first few moments in a new country can generate a lot of anxiety and stress naturally), they did not have bank statements or utility bills. The moment I shared with the employee that they had just arrived, the employee seemed relieved, almost celebrating that he did not have to do the application process and could just send us away. Without any empathy, he handed me a piece of paper showing the documents that could be provided and saying that it was impossible for them to have health coverage considering how recently they arrived. As I was asking him questions around what to do if they didn't have health coverage until such a document could be provided, with an arrogant look, he slowly kept looking at his watch and replying as if he just wanted us to leave. For example, one of the questions I asked was "what if they have a medical emergency between now and whenever they have a proof of address?" to which he responded (after slowly looking at his watch again) "well go to the hospital, take the bill and then after you have coverage, you can take it with them" which we all know can be a huge hassle. My family and I were shocked and disappointed after seeing this. We just left, feeling anxious and sad to see this person's attitude, perhaps his break was coming up so he didn't want to do his job? In conclusion, to Service Ontario: Please evaluate your employees' performance and customer service skills, to the public: Go somewhere else. And to the rude and lazy employee: We figured it out, no thanks to you.

I want to take a moment to recognize Christian, an outstanding employee at ServiceOntario who truly went above and beyond during my recent visit. From the moment I walked in, he was polite, welcoming, and professional. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions with patience, and handled my request quickly and efficiently.

What stood out most was Christian’s positive attitude and genuine willingness to help. It’s not every day you meet someone who brings both kindness and competence to their job the way he did. He made the whole experience smooth and stress-free, and I truly appreciate his dedication to excellent customer service.

She guided me through registering my motorcycle, which was a tricky situation, but she handled it with incredible patience and thoroughness. This service Ontario needs to re-train their employees!
We came in for a simple Lease Transfer. We had all the documents needed to do this. However, when we tried to do it the man on the service counter, Christian, started asking his colleagues and even on the phone what he should do and when he started asking us for the paper work I told him that it was all there but he didn’t read anything at all and he just stayed on the phone giving us attitude instead of solutions.
We tried to explain to him multiple times and he wouldn’t listen or read and had a very condescending tone.
So we left frustrated and feeling very upset.
We then went to a different service Ontario in the same area where we found actual professional people who knew what they were doing and did everything with zero issues and within minutes.
They even praised us for having ALL the paper work CORRECTLY with everything up to the minister standards.

Do not waste your time in this service Ontario!!
these people don’t seem like they like working here. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service.

Cherice, one of the best employee at this office, she helped me a lot and go through with me whole process of applying a health card. Thanks Cherice for saving my day while I had a rough day at another another service Ontario. Appreciate keep smiling like that 🙂

Had an easy and fast process at counter 10. Christian was helpful with my application and even went ahead to help an elderly woman who had some concerns.

The guy at kiosk 10, is not at all a person that should belong there, he is harming the government as well as this center.

When i went on kiosk 10, he was starring at me, didn’t even ask how was i doing or how can i help you, i had to say that i was there for health card. Also, when asked for any clarification he gives a weird look and says yes thats what it means.

This is one of the worse place I have ever been to in my life. I have to walk 1 and a half hours to this place to get my health card done. Told I don't have the right information. Great indeed tells me what I need to go back to be told I need something else. The man behind the counter didn't mind helping the guy ahead of me, writing everything down for him, well me as a woman as far as I'm concerned been dismissed two times, without a health card.
