No response to webform requesting a unit. No response to multiple phone calls — all of which are answered by their answering service, who take your info and fill out the same GD webform. They have no onsite office and they have no person in Saskatoon who will return your calls.

It’s been 2 days, and I give up.

Apparently they were a good company 5 years ago, but now they just feel like a scam.

Sounds like a nice place, other than the fact that whoever is in charge of the Saskatoon office doesn't respond to online queries/bookings. Multiple phone calls to the answering service and left messages indicating an urgent requirement were also left unanswered. (even to say "sorry, nothing available")
After 3 days of zero response, I had to make other arrangements. If their response level is in any way an indication of their service...I would say steer clear.

My own experience differs from that of the other reviewers. Signing up is not easy. In fact the sign up process gives me a bad feeling about the reputation of the company as a whole. Think about it, if any other company said they wanted your credit card information up front but you weren't allowed to actually see or visit what you are renting for 14 days would that not set of "scam alert" alarm bells in your head? Who expects to rent something before you can actually inspect what you intend to rent? My experience has been nothing but a series of endless "call you backs" and phone tag. By comparison I could have driven to any competitors storage facility, signed up the same day, and stored my belongings same day. I am not saying this is a scam or a bad company but holy cow, customer service is wanting. Makes me wonder how they would be if there was ever a problem when they have no personnel on the ground to respond or help you. If your storage unit gets mice, rats, or ants; or gets a leak; or the power goes out so the gate code doesn't work and you are stuck inside their compound, then what? Who is going to help you when you can't even get someone to let you inspect one of the storage units? Leaves me with an uneasy feeling.

Comparing Shield Self Storage to other options we looked at, they are incredibly easy to sign up for, they have great rates for the size of units they offer, the units are steel, the security seems solid, and the 24 hour access is extremely convenient. They also let you cancel at any time and won’t charge you for the full month / will reimburse you for the portion of the month you don’t use. For example, if you are scheduled to be charged at the start of each month but then have to cancel mid month, you’ll be reimbursed for the cost of that first half month upon cancelling.

Unless you are unable to transport and move in/out your own belongings to and from their storage centre yourself, I would HIGHLY recommend this storage solution in Saskatoon.

Following an on line booking, and zero followup from the business for required details. I made numerous calls, that were answered by an answering service, hired to serve as their specialist.
The information provided, after 5 attempts to attain details on storage unit , left me with no information, that was useful. I was advised to not worry, I should just show up, and I would be looked after on site.
Upon arrival with a loaded truck of items to be unloaded, found this to be an unmanned site. Further was left for additional 2 hours before finally able to speak with the local representative
The representative, identifying himself as one of the owners, was rude, and upset, that we were their, claiming new customers, were required to provide 48 hours notice, before arrangements could be made to provide us with the information for access and unit number for storage.
In all aspects of service, and storage, I am awarding them the worst business in storage. ?
I would never recommend, beyond the problems. I was required to secure last minute alternate storage facilities, and am I ever glad I did. Very happy with alternate choose.

My boyfriend has 2 storage units here, They are fairly priced and and have clean Phoenix they're open 247 which is awesome. they are not nosey which is appreciated, units are not heated and no electricity but that isn't a issue, well till it is -50 LOL. We are very happy with the rental 😀

Great storage place, easy to access. Management is quick to respond regarding any inquiries. If I'm ever in need of a storage unit in the future I will definitely use them again.

We have used the services of Shield Self Storage since they opened. Bryan's sense of customer service is second to none and has always been exceptional. Highly recommend Bryan and his company to anyone that is looking for self storage space.
