Sloppy Thieves

I recently moved from South Florida to North Carolina and used them for my move. At first the price sounded great, $2750 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath and motorcycle. Then they picked up my move and the price doubled because somehow my cubic feet doubled yet when they took the inventory it was 140 boxes and I only had 82. Once they got to North Carolina the driver stated he couldn't drive the truck to deliver my stuff and added an additional $1330. Total cost was $8000 and I am missing 6 Boxes, my TV stand is broken, glasses and plates broken and my motorcycle is scratched. Will never, ever use them again. Here's how my stuff arrived

Trans Van Lines is the worst moving company on the planet; do yourself a favor and read below (I will try to keep it as brief as possible) and DO NOT use this company. In my opinion they are criminals!

It all started with a call with Amanda to get a quote to move me from Fort Lauderdale to Cincinnati. Rather than quote what I had over the phone, I had Amanda send someone physically to my house to eliminate any “surprises”. After walking them through everything I wanted to move, mind you in person, I received a quote for $3,760. I booked the company and schedule my move for a month down the road.

When the moving day came, six (6) movers came to my house and packed everything I owned onto their truck. I was dealing with David, who was moving my items, and Diego was the guy at the office. After packing everything, and NOT saying a word, Diego gets on the phone and tells me I owe over $9,000!!!!! They literally have you “over the barrel” because they threaten that you either pay, or spend the whole day unpacking everything they just did. And then at that point, they had my $3,760 in a cashiers check. I was able to negotiate $7,000 which is almost double what I was quoted in PERSON from Trans Van Lines. Mind you, I had lower quotes than the $3,760 that were quoted over the telephone but felt the in person walk through would solve any issues.

Fast-forward a week to Cincinnati. The truck and 2 movers get to town, and claim they cannot get down the street because there was a small tree limb blocking the turn. Mind you, the driver did not even bother to try. They then proceeded to charge me an additional $900 otherwise they would hold my items hostage. I finally agreed, and waited 5 HOURS for them to even put one thing into my house. Once they did, myself and my father ended up having to do a lot of the carrying in unwrapping of the stuff as these two were exhausted and were so slow.

It took 26 hours from when they arrived to my house in Cincinnati for them to unpack my things. They lost items, broke several pieces. Tt was a mess, and even after everything I had been through, Mona, and the rest of the office staff were absolutely despicable to work and speak to. They literally did not care and are make several threats. The drivers asked me to come one the truck to see if I could identify any of my items. It was no wonder they had items lost and broken…. There was boxes and furniture everywhere!!!! Smashed boxes, broken items, people’s things that they threw outside of the truck in the rain. I have pictures of it all! See below.
I truly feel sorry for these people who were to receive their items next.

The Trans Van Lines experience was the worst I have ever had with any company, in any industry and that comes with experience! They extort their customers once they low ball the price and then hold them hostage once everything is loaded on the truck. The driver said this was his first load with this company and all 5 families were dealing with the same issue. This company should be ashamed of how they operate. DO NOT USE Trans Van Lines..

I had the unfortunate experience of using Trans Van Lines for my move, and it was an absolute nightmare. Initially, they quoted me a price that seemed reasonable, but upon arrival, they claimed I needed more cubic space and charged me an additional $1500. This unexpected and exorbitant charge was just the beginning of my problems.

The movers were careless and unprofessional, resulting in several pieces of my furniture being damaged or completely broken. What was supposed to be a smooth and stress-free process turned into a disaster. The lack of care and responsibility shown by this company is appalling.

I strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. Save yourself the headache, frustration, and unexpected costs. This was by far the worst moving experience I’ve ever had.

I feel very let down with this service...
To start with I must commend the sales staff for their ability to eloquently package and offer customer service. Unfortunately, the service stops at the moment of pick-up.
From misquoting me by more than 50% of what the driver picking my items up “determined” was the value that I owed to over $350 worth of upcharges for stairs, even though I very clearly stated the number of flights the movers must carry my items at time of pickup.
Next, there is a “system” so they say, that offered me 30 days of free storage(to which I was grateful for). However, I received a phone call 3 days after pickup stating that my items had been inadvertently loaded onto a truck and that they would give me a $150 discount. I obliged as it was a fair offer. When the driver(with no crew) arrived here in Houston, traveling from Chicago; he stated he was waiting for his CRAIGSLiST laborers to show up to help move the heavy items. (They never showed). I had to help him move my heavy items even though this is a “full service” moving company which had received over $2500 for a small 1 bedroom apartment. The driver and I went back a forth for more than 45 minutes over the fact that he did not have knowledge of the discount offered to me for the early shipping as well as the fact he was charging me an extra 150$ for stairs(also included on the quote but not included on Bill of lading and also not allowed to be forgiven).
10 minutes after He left, I realized that my foot board of my bed had been forgotten and called the dispatch. Rather than dispatch calling the driver, I was told to call back on Monday. It has been four days and no one has offered me help besides the fact of saying that I should not have signed for it if it wasn’t there. I do agree that I should have been more attentive when signing a contract but I frankly wanted the gentlemen out of my house after he had been rude at the beginning and was lacking the labor elp to move a one bedroom apartment in less than three hours.
Unless their customer service standards change, I strongly urge everyone to shop around. I say this as someone who works in the logistics industry... disappointed.

BEWARE! Stay away! We strongly suggest that no one use this company! I'm still so saddened, shocked and deeply hurt by our experience with Trans Van Lines of Davie. So many of our boxes were crushed, many loaded upside down, some opened/tape seal broken and unaccounted item(s). Nearly every piece of furniture THEY PACKED /wrapped was destroyed, literally SHATTERED/BUSTED UP/BROKEN INTO MULTIPLE PIECES. See pictures to see examples of how extensive the damage was to so many of our items. Sentimental and antique pieces -- family heirlooms - tables, mirror, chest turned into shards of wood, broken beyond repair and barely recognizable. We feel they were DISHONEST from original pickup. They missed two committed pickup windows and we had to call them to find out they weren't making their windows both times - after waiting ~2 hours for them each time. Both times they said they were "going to get packing materials." We were advised at pick-up that our shipment would be over the original size estimate as they were staging loading it onto their truck and, what was a less than 25% Increase in Shipment size equated to a ~60% Increase in Costs - how does that happen? Additionally, at pickup, before even loading our goods they asked us to sign a blank form stating we would pay whatever they noted/itemized for packing materials - essentially asking us to agree to buys something before they give us a price/estimate for it. Would you commit to buying a car without knowing the price? We should have known it would just get worse after feeling scammed at pick-up. I can't even begin to describe the experience and horror and frankly terror these people have brought to us. We called the company ~5 days after pickup, as we hadn't heard from them at all, to track our goods and also share our concern about pricing increase. We spoke to several people and although some seemed pleasant feel they were all deceitful and part of the scam they have going here (eg. Sergio, Lorena, Mona, Kelcey, etc.). (Oh, by the way watch for these names on reviews, as it seems some of these names have also been names of parties posting positive/raving reviews of this company on various sites-- hmm... coincidence, really?) We even spoke to Avi, whom we believe is the owner based on information online, at one point and he was defensive and rude. We almost feel they intentionally destroyed our personal belongings since we called to express our concern -- how terrible, these people are truly evil if that is the case. We feel these people are crooks, scam artists of the worst type. You work your whole life for your belongings, just to have them destroyed by someone. We feel violated - paid over 3,000 dollars for a move of a 10x10 storage unit of our home goods - everything we have material in life just to have our furnishings held hostage and then so many of them just DESTROYED. Companies like this shouldn't be allowed to operate. I will post more details after we speak to them today about the disposition to see what they might do/say. I'm just still in shock really, incredibly saddened at extensive sentimental loss of things, but felt essential to post something quickly so potential "buyers beware" and everyone knows what to expect and stays away from this company. PICTURES NOW ATTACHED WITH EXAMPLES OF DESTRUCTION/TREATMENT

You know it’s bad when a company has to bot fake 5 star reviews.

This is how you should expect your things to arrive if you hire this company. Additionally, be ready to fork up another couple hundred dollars over what you were first quoted.

Once your things are picked up, expect to not see them for a good 6-8 weeks maybe more. Once the delivery day comes, where you’ll receive no heads up that your things are 5 minutes away from you, be ready to be yelled at over the phone because they want another $80 out of you, after you’ve already paid over $5000.

By far the most ridiculous service I’ve received in my entire life, and definitely a learning experience. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company. You’ll end up saving more money in the long run by hiring a reputable service that will treat both you and your things kindly.

TTrans Van Line is an appalling excuse for a moving company. Please heed this review as a warning to never contact this company as it is nothing but a carefully calculated scam to take your items, financially abuse you, and return your home in pieces.
This is my story:
In March, I scheduled my move from Florida to Alabama. In preparing for the move, I walked through my home with the Sales Representative via phone describing and listing all furniture and adding 20 boxes to move, in order to receive a quote. The agreed quoted amount was $1,920.
On the day of the move and one day before our home’s closing, I called Trans Van Line to find out that the Truck could not make it and my move has been scheduled for the next day. I had to call twice to negotiate the movers to come 1st thing in the morning between 7 am - 9 am and not at a window of 4 pm - 6pm. I had to move my closing and postpone my travel plans. The movers showed up the next day. Then the movers proceeded to unload and reload the whole truck (which was not a marked Trans Van Line Truck), before even beginning to work on moving our things. (Interesting as they charge by cubic footage) At 10:30 am the movers then took my 70% cash down payment (because Trans Van Line does not accept Credit Cards) and began to wrap all my belongings. The closing of my house came and went and the new owners were already outside the house waiting on Trans Van Line to be done. Once everything was wrapped, half loaded unto the truck the Head mover told me there was a "discrepancy". Instead of the agreed price of $1,920 I now owe $3,450. The price change is due to the furniture being called different things (bar cart v tea cart, night stand v end table, etc.). Still, I didn't understand how this made any difference in cubic footage. The Head Mover then suggested I can still pay the initial 70% and we will pay an agreed difference upon delivery. They graciously gave me a $300 discount for the "inconvenience". After being a day behind, with new owners knocking on our door. I had no choice but to accept these conditions. This was June 29, 2017. June 30th at 9am ET I called about my price difference. I was told that due to there being a discrepancy that my family's personal items and furniture will be taken to Fort Lauderdale, FL and unloaded at an unknown Warehouse until the "claims department" takes care of our disagreement. I was baffled. I asked to speak with a manager and was denied. Claims would contact me in 2-3 business days. July 3rd 9am CT I called Trans Van Line and no one would speak to me and stated my Family's items are at an Unknown Warehouse in Fort Lauderdale, FL and that the Claims Center is reviewing my case. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they were all out on Vacation for the 4th. July 5th 9am CT I called and spoke with the Claims Center, my claim has not been reviewed as of yet. Exhausted, I paid the full amount just to have my family's items delivered to us. We've been in an empty house in Alabama sleeping on the floor for 5 days now. After paying and conceding, I was told delivery would be made in 2-10 days and that this was my fault for disputing the move. The movers came Monday July 10th. I have included photos of how crudely our home was packed unto the truck and a photo of one of our boxes that had been marked as "Fragile" that I witness the mover literally throw into my house. We lost so much in this move; our couch, a bar cart, a family heirloom wooden desk, floor lamps, and home decor & wedding memorabilia. Did I mention that I did the inventory checklist and moved almost 90% of everything from the truck because the movers kept taking breaks? When I filed a claim for these damaged items I was scorned by the Claims Representative that I didn't purchase the additional insurance and that they do not owe for anything packed in boxes, no matter the circumstances. My family was offered $150 compensation for all these damaged items. Trans Van Line took so much from my family: our furniture, our memories, our money, and made our move a nightmare.

After I goggle to find someone to help in relocating from Chicago to Sunnyvale,CA, I found Trans van lines.
Trans van lines promised me to complete the delivery within 5-10days after the pick up. But when I called after pick up they mentioned they don't have a driver/ truck to load my stuffs.
I experienced racism from the Vice President of the company. She spoke to me very rudely. She threatened me that they will not ship my household stuffs. Sometimes when I call them they will put me on hold and no one talks after that.

After 45 Days when I received my household stuffs, My TV screen was broken(Even though it was packed with Thick Carton box), Computer Desk was broken, Micro woven was damaged, Table is broken, Mattress is teared. It looks like they intentionally broke.

Be aware of this agency, they are not the real Packers and Movers.
