Don’t even bother with this hotel. It’s a joke, and would be better used as a parking lot for the hospital across the street.

My dad and I were coming down to surprise a a family friend, and just needed a place to crash until they came back into town. We booked here because Travelodge is at least a recognizable name and would at least have SOME standards for customer service and quality, even if a bit old or barebones in terms of amenities. The room was advertised as $99 online, and wound up costing us $150. Whatever, I get that there are taxes and travel fees and whatnot. The hotel looks and smells old and run down, it clearly hasn’t been renovated since the 70s, not even new sheets or redoing the wallpaper. Amenities are advertised, but seem to be out of order, and based on reviews have been out of order for a long time. Our room, while admittedly it was advertised as a smoking room, smelled so strongly of cigarettes that even my dad (a smoker for the past 40 years) was shocked. Im not convinced the room gets thoroughly cleaned very often beyond just flipping the sheets the right way and maybe a quick wipe down. We didn’t even bring our bags inside, just checked the room for bed bugs (because we felt the need to do that given the state of the room) and left to consider our options.

Even with all that, I fully intended to just get a refund (even a partial one) and pretend I never stayed there. We found out our friend was back in town, so we wanted to stay at his place for the night instead given the state of our current accommodation. We understood that there was a 1-hour refund policy (which the manager was quoting as the reason for denying us our refund)
 but we hadn’t been checked in for an hour, and had spent about 3 minutes in our hotel room. Based on the time on the receipt compared to my phone calls with customer service, it had probably been about 45 minutes since we checked in, and we sat there arguing with the manager and calling customer service for the next 20 minutes trying to get a refund. Customer service couldn’t do anything, and it was clear he didn’t care. Hotel manager made a motion with his hand like he was pretending to slap my dad as he walked out after returning our key. Considering the state of the room and the atrocious customer service, anyone in the area looking for somewhere to stay is better off sleeping in their car.

Well let’s see; #1 - advertised for $79.00 a night and he charged us $179.00 !!|#2- the room was filthy, stains on the bedding, carpets and the walls were filthy. |#3 - no microwave in the room either |#4 - beds were very uncomfortable .|If it wasn’t dark when we arrived we would have definitely went somewhere else. We will never stay here again !! Disgusted !!

Arrived late during a storm since there was supposed to be a 24 hour front desk. No lights on, doors locked and open sign was turned off. Could not stay.

We spent 2 nights here, ice machine was broken manager said he could not buy parts for it. The baseboard heater in bathroom did not work and it was in Dec. When it was very cold. The hot water was barely warm you were lucky to get 5 mini of hot water for a shower. The thermostat for the main room was either on full blast or nothing at all. When this was all brought up too the Manager be basically said, " Well that's life" , those were his words. No offer of discount or apology, and still charged me $148.00 because we had 2 dogs. WOW, I will never stay there or recommend it too anyone for that kind of service. I worked at different hotels for 10 yrs , 1 1/2 yrs at the Empress in Victoria , also 8 yrs Assist., General Manager for 3 hotels in Belize, C.A., as well as 2 in Kelowna, B.C. DO NOT waste your money. FORGOT to mention the carpet had not been cleaned in weeks you could see boot prints from other guests and it smelled terrible. Sincerely the Truth. D

I wish they had negative reviews for this hotel and I wish I read the multiple reviews that stated they have bed bugs before I booked. No refund (common theme) even though I called to cancel 20 mins after booking. I'll definitely never go to this hotel and never recommend anyone to go here.
VERY poor customer service.

Rooms were cleanish. Continental breakfast was a muffing, snack bar, juice box and an apple in a brown paper bag. All the out of room amenities are “Permanently out of order”.

WARNING BEDBUGS
My coworker and I were booked for two nights at this hotel. We got settled a little after 10:30pm and begin to wind down when I noticed a bug crawl a cross the the pillowcase, and immediately I'm concerned. I flip over the bedding and check the sheets and mattress and it's crawling with bedbugs (if I could post pictures I would) We clean up our stuff and went to the front desk and told the man working the counter about our situation, and instead of offering to change the room or even apologizing he immediately tells us he'll refund our room and to leave. So completely bewildered by his response, we do. We were sitting in the parking lot trying to figure out where to go. It was getting close to 11:15pm at this point as we looked online for other hotels, we were sitting there with the doors open when a man and a woman approached our vehicle telling us since we have cancelled our reservation we must leave to property at once. I began to try and explain that we were looking for another hotel to book when the woman muttered something to the man then all of a sudden he began shouting that we had to leave the property immediately and began shouting at us to go.. so we closed the door and got out of there... One of the most bizarre hotel experience of my life.
Do not recommend. Will never go back.
