I booked a truck 7 days ago to pick up at 9am because I was moving interstate. Only day before they mailed me that I can only pick up at 4pm instrad of 9am. So I had to load the truck till 12am. I also lost one day of my plan.
Moreover, I booked 2 furniture dollies but they said there is no dolly left to rent me when I pick up the truck. Because it's first come first serve basis. What's the point of early booking?
Only reason I am leaving 3 stars instead of 1 is a guy at reception desk was kind and helpful and finally moved.

Rented a moving truck. Check engine light illuminated. I was charged for the truck when I picked it up in the morning and charged a second time when it was returned I brought this up with the woman at the front counter who argued and said that I was not charged despite my proof on my credit card statement. Scam artists at their best.

The staff at this location are exceptional!! I have rented 4 or 5 different trucks over the last 2 months, and every thing always went smooth and they were fun to deal with, i always left with a smile! I've had many opposite opinions at many other locations, but this Deerfoot location due to its staff is top notch. The trucks were always clean and ran well, was nice to hear the maintenance guy ask how it ran, and it felt like he actually cared about the issues. I will be recommending the Deerfoot branch to everyone!! Thank you so much for all of your help, I can be a pain in the butt sometimes, lol. Woodsy out!...

All the staff were competent. Davi and Brooke were exceptional because they were thorough and were outgoing.

This location is the best UHAUL store I have visited because the staff cared and a storage facility are attached to the rental store and yard. How convenient!!!

Too bad 😞 that they had to let go a good hard work employee in storage. That person help me every time when I was there. I always get lost. I always see him working hard inside of storage. He always answer my questions. I was looking for him today. And one of your employee told me that he was let go of his work from here. That is too bad. He told me this place of storage is the best place to go and he told me that if I had any friends that needs storage to come here. Now that he is let go, I will take my friends and me to a different place to store my stuff.

We really could have used a dolly but your company was out of equipment to rent. We bought one and now selling it because we don’t need a dolly anymore, just for the move. The lack of equipment, like dolly’s to rent, is my only complaint. Otherwise great customer service at both locations (pick up and drop off) also, your on phone customer service. Very accommodating as well.

The nicest and frendliest people I’ve met at a UHaul; and I’ve rented quite a few trucks before. The Ford van I rented at this place was very new and clean — i’d say at most 2 years in service.

The medicine hat location pulled this trick on me too, when i rented the unit I was told i could use a U-Haul branded U-SHAPED PADLOCK. Then about two weeks into my rental, they DOUBLE LOCKED my unit effectively locking me out, and when i got to the office they informed me that i had to purchase ANOTHER LOCK, the round DISC PADLOCK. to make this matter even more frustrating, they repeated the exact same process here in calgary when i moved in....even after i explicitly mentioned what happened in medicine hat.......is this some sort of nationwide scam to get customers to buy not one, but TWO locks from yall at each location When I was moving in, I could not believe that the second floor doors were non functional. This would have made my move phenomenally easier. Without the second floor dock being accessible, it took a lot longer to load/unload than it should have. Everything had to be carted through the entire 1st floor, then into the service elevator, then across the whole 2nd floor to my unit, rather than just into the 2nd floor service bay and down the hallway (doubling or tripling the distance I had to move my items in and out of the building). I started renting maybe DEC/JAN. During this time i believe there were people sleeping on the floors/in units and leaving a large amount of garbage and mess around the building and after about a week into january, y'all started locking down the entire premises and restricting access to only daytime business hours, effectively keeping me from accessing my storage unit. My employment hours far exceed the hours of U-Haul operation. It took me excessively longer than it should have for me to empty my unit, because sadly I could only take one load *if i was lucky* before the building was closed, and only very rarely as my hours of employment are fluctuating. Something that should have taken me about TWO months took me about EIGHT. $300/mo for eight months is $2,400. Another major setback was when all the tenants started locking the flat carts into their locker. I had previously left the premises in a fit of anger after searching the entire property on all floors looking for a cart to use, there were none. After talking to a disgruntled employee, he told me he "did not have the time to look through the camera footage to see who is locking carts within their locker." Because there were no carts provided, I was unable to move my items off the premises. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO SIT BACK AND PAY YOU. If I would have known that the hours of operations would have changed so quickly after I had started renting, I would have not have rented here. I was COMPLETELY unable to withdraw my own items and was stuck paying the bill month after month. I ended up using all of my personal hours at work in order to get the appropriate time to empty the unit. I have been a longtime user and enjoyer of uHual storage, I like that I can come and go when I want, in a secure location. uHual makes it easy with lifts, and big bays that i can pull my vehicle into, and access to my unit at all times of day and night. This experience was anything but. I am incredibly displeased and am unsure if I will ever be returning.

First, I sent this exact review directly to U-Haul using THEIR corporate website expecting a reply from some sort of customer-relations department. It has been two weeks and I have received no reply. U-Haul, i commend you to take accountability for your shortcomings, and to take the time to address concerns from your paying customers
