AI or a kiosk should replace the office service, and parking rates should be reduced instead of paying redundant clerk staff as a utilization offer.

Some behaviour is disappointing. When you get a ticket, an unpleasant experience, a human can show sympathy, not acting like an answering machine or the Sheriff of Nottingham on tax day! When I told her I was on a trip and had just come home to pick up my backpack, I got the ticket only in a couple of minutes; she started reiterating the rule for me as if "I don't care; pay and get out!"

This interaction left me feeling extremely upset, particularly on a busy day when I had many other responsibilities to manage. It's important to consider the personal impact of these interactions, not just the enforcement of rules.
Based on frequent incidents and what I've heard, it's disheartening to see that UWaterloo's actions do not reflect a concern for its reputation. These experiences leave alumni with unpleasant memories, which is a disappointing reflection on the university.

It's important to note that not all interactions with staff are negative. Some staff members are incredibly friendly and kind, even when their job requires them to issue tickets. These positive interactions are a credit to the staff and should be acknowledged.

incredibly unprofessional workers who make you feel like you’ve committed murder by accidentally forgetting to pay, while in a rush to your job inside the university…

AMP app constantly faults and even when my payment declines and doesn’t notify me, resulting in me receiving a ticket, workers have zero remorse and speak harshly to you.

when their own system fails, or a worker makes a mistake in allocating tickets to your specific ePark account, so you can’t see any of your tickets or pay them, they still blame you.

I guess I have no choice but to join everyone else who just gives this the lowest rating because they are truly the worst people to deal with, have the dumbest, most frivolous and useless systems, they will not work on any solutions and are just generally a good enough reason to not attend or work at UW

An addition: the parking manager, Ed, will demand respect but not extend that respect to you. My first interaction with him, he was entirely disrespectful from the very start.

No sympathy whatsoever. Decline responsibility for everything. Instead of giving me a physical ticket on my dashboard for not having my parking permit displayed, the lady decided to write the time I parked, the ticket number, all on my dashboard with her finger. It’s absurd how they want me to pay that. I spent more time compounding and polishing the streaks off my glass. When I talked to them, they transfer me from office to office and finally decline responsibility. Terrible services.

These people have no sympathy or humanity. I understand they deal with a lot of students and potentially students who may be rude or trying to pull a fast one on them. But honestly, every single interaction I have had with UW Parking services has been rude and assumptive. They act like every single person who enters them is some robot or criminal who does not matter. And also, get a parking ticket machine for J lot, I looked everywhere for one and I couldnt find it, and I was in a rush to get back to my job so I couldnt waste time. Few hours later, lo and behold I have a ticket. Ticket is understandable but at least put a sign saying the ticketing machine was 2 parking lots down or add a new one to J lot!

I live in graduate housing and have to park my truck in the neighbourhood parking lot, so I get a parking pass every semester. Although I suppose it's reasonable that this pass is only valid for the housing complex and not the rest of the Waterloo campus, UW Parking Services does not allow you to buy a separate pass to park in any of the campus lots, whether you're willing to pay or not. I think you should be able to buy multiple passes if you have the willingness to pay.

Having said that, the staff is very polite and friendly. They void your first ticket as a courtesy, which is classy, and on the question of other tickets they are willing to negotiate the price down if you can explain the extenuating circumstances behind how you got them.

Overall, the system isn't perfect, but it works.

So rude and unhelpful. They treat the students who fund their pay checks terribly, and in general the parking situation is dismal.
