I travel all over AB and BC to thrift stores comparison. Value Village is stinky overpriced store product donated by local nonprofits. Other local thrift stores may sell for $2 all items!
Dot Store sell items $1 / $10 ratio!
Better to find a deal at the mall for 50% off!
Vanguard, Black rock, American Financial top institutional holders.
Mark Walsh, the CEO of Savers Value Village, made $10.13 million in compensation in 2021.

I like to be thrifty and recycle. I needed a new winter jacket and found a high quality one from New Zealand of pure wool made in Nepal. I wouldn't say the prices are that great though. To me they're a bit too high for second-hand and I find Salvation Army more reasonable. However if you donate anything, you will get a 20% off coupon that helps with your next purchase. They are a big store so I go occasionally to see what's there. To me it's like a big garage sale and if you're willing, you can find good quality items, but again, I do find the prices are getting higher than I think they should be for used items. It's like anything, if you look, you can find some good deals if you know your prices.

to be honest.... ..
i dont even go here to shop anymore its way too expensive for grandmas garden gnomes and fake china plate type stuff.
but it is entertaining to see the stuff that goes on in there; i get to play the game with my sibling "see how many people are shoplifting today", i get to experience heated conversations between rez kids and fenty folders so i guess that makes my day more interesting. the security guards dont do much but i dont blame em.
if you want your entertainment fo the day then check this place out

Thrift stores are supposed to have low and reasonable prices. Your prices are ridiculously high.
Online in the USA they have warehouse thrift stores with incredibly low prices.
Who wants to pay a prime price for something worn, slept on or in. Underwear shouldn't be sold if it's Secondhand, sand with swimsuits. I am boycotting your store as everything is overpriced. The artwork, ridiculous. Often it's dirty.
Old frying pans with flakes of chemicals coming off. They shouldn't be sold for health risks.
You get all these items free. The size of store, staff, heat and hydro should be on budget without killing the consumer with your nasty pricing system.
Pure greedy.
I will support the Hospital Auxiliary thrift store and the Salvation Army and Hospice. They groups who do a lot for everyone, not just a selected few.
You company is grossly taking advantage of people who are in desperate need. Who wants yo pay 20.00 and up for used clothing. That's disgusting.

This place is great. From a life long thrifter's pov its great, wish there were more retro pieces but eh. I've gotten plenty of my favorite clothing pieces here such as a lab coat, an awesome sweatervest, poncho, and a green hoodie i later customized. Some of my only complaints are that the checkout is normally understaffed so if you bring cash it can be annoying, and the toy section is poorly organized and messy from kids being dropped their while their parents shop. Otherwise, pretty good thrift store!

Way overpriced for a thrift store, especially as the majority of clothes are ripped and/or stained. I've seen faux leather jackets all torn up with the fabric showing in patches being sold for $50, name brand jogger with gaping holes in the crotch for $20, hoodies that are ++pilled with grease stains all over sold for$20+, non stick pans all scratched up with only the edges of the non stick coating left being sold for $15, dollar store items (with original dollar store tag still on) being sold for over twice the amount it sells for new, etc. etc.
It's not even worth going there anymore when I can buy brand new for very little extra money. The prices are ridiculous even IF the clothes were in sellable condition - which most aren't.
