Visiting GP from BC with family. We had Noodle Box spicy flavorful dining experience in BC, so we thought going here to eat our lunch.
Restaurant is nice and clean. Food looked good as can be seen in the pictures. But I wondered, where’s the spices? Where’s the punchiness in the taste and flavors. It was so mild and sweet. Everything is sweet. I want my meal, Asian meal to be a spicy flavorful meal. Sweetness will be last on my list that I want my food to be.
I ordered Lemongrass Chicken Rice bowl. It looked good and I thought I made a right selection, but when I started eating, it seemed bland. Now, why wasn’t it flavorful After eating half of it, I realized that the gravy was poured onto the rice making all flavorful gravy seeped down under the rice making the top rice layer to be “just” rice.I mixed that gravy with rice and ate, and the taste seemed decent, but then the gravy finished as soon as I started enjoying it, leaving 40% of the bland rice left that I didn’t want to eat without the gravy. What a disaster and big disappointing meal. First mix the gravy. If not, at least give good quantity of gravy that’s good enough for the rice quantity. This is stinginess of the cook and the owner’s policy about food portions. Not happy and will not go here again.

Another disappointment, not necessarily related to the restaurant but the Wok Box App. All posters saying 25% discount on first order through the app. My wife paid the full amount on the app and no discount was given. Instead, showed a 20% discount coupon on the next order. What is this The cashier lady said the same happened with another customer too and they couldn’t fix it.
Interesting there was no option of canceling the order. How come the App is lying about it?

Restaurant simply washed their hands off by saying contact the customer care.

So, here we are, visiting GP, and got ripped off by the Wok Box App and no help from the restaurant.

Food is good for fast casual Asian; I love their green onion cakes. They are a bit expensive but the portions are generous. I do wish they would repair the fountain pop machine because bottled pop is expensive.

We came for dinner after the workers at Taco Bell ignored us. We had the best meals at wok box and needed boxes to take the rest of our meal home. Always 10/10 at wok box west side ! The employees are simply the best 💕 10/10

Never had a bad meal, price is very reasonable, service is quick. I just wish that the dine-in experience was a little better. Can't regular condiments be at each table?

It was my first visit to Grande Prairie so I actually don’t know what the food standard in this area. FYI it’s very personal opinion. It was a very interesting experience for me. I don’t think they’ve had Asian food before especially Pad Thai. I ordered Pad Thai sumo size. I am satisfied with the food size but the thing is about the taste. Very disappointing...And I’ve never had pad Thai with a hard boiled egg not the scrambled eggs. If you are starving, you wanna fill your tummy with something to eat, you can try this place but if you expect good Asian foods don’t go there.

I had a craving for my usual a lemon crispy chicken. When I arrived at the north side wokbox at 9:47pm I noticed that the open sign was shut off. I made sure to check the hours online before I got out of my car, on this Wednesday the hours were from 11am-11pm. I thought it was unusual that the sign was off, and I wondered to myself if they changed their hours to 10pm instead. I went to try the door of the store and on the door the hours were posted as well 11am to 11pm. I walk inside and take a few steps and there was 2 employees who immediately said that they were closed. I was very confused on why they would say they are closed, when there’s still a little over an hour until close. I tried to ask them what their hours were, and I was interrupted with them saying they were closed. They managed to say that they were going to close at 10 and take the extra hour to clean the store.At this time it was 9:50pm. They still would have had 10 minutes to make my order. To make things better there was another customer waiting in the lobby for their food while I was refused service. I was tired from the day and I wasn’t going to argue, so I just left. Even if they were going to close the store at 10, they should not have the store hours posted until 11pm, as it is misleading to customers thinking that they will be able to place an order. I am very disappointed and am feeling let down from this service yesterday. I used to view this location and staff very highly, now that has changed. I used to frequent this establishment very often but now I’ll have to reconsider finding somewhere else where they won’t refuse to serve me.

But the customers though.....SUPERB!

We have two little kids and sometimes they can be noisy and I care what people think and whenever we go to Wok Box in GP, I have never seen a judgemental eye towards us 🙂👍🙂👍
